Yeahhh I can see what you mean techie, I mean im only 18 and ive ordered a boca, and goin up from a 1.4sc sport. So the performance jump is going to be massive for me.

I would still like to eventually remap it at least stage one.
and about the dump valve, not really much point if it gives no performance gains it may not be worth it, depends on price, if its not too much i may invest just so its louder.

Will decide when i get it, mid march :D

The spacers are about £50 ish plus VAT iirc.

But not many dump valves offer a performance gain over a standard one, might work a little faster but most just lst longer thats all.

And i'd at least drive the car before deciding it has to be remapped...lol. They are pretty quick as is.

To be honest most of our engines are pre run in anyhow, 1000 miles is plenty if your feeling gentle.

Labour? For the spacer, don't know to be honest, few hours. Not worth the warranty hassles though tbh,

I don't think a dump valve would be worth the efforts in the end to be honest with you.
I gave my car a good gentle 600 miles before I dropped her into Sport mode and gave it some. I made sure the car was warmed up too. One thing that helped is that I went from a Pug 306 1.6 5 door, which was my first car to the Boc. I took it easy cos of the power and my inexperience with it. But now I've covered 2,700 miles I'm alot more used to the power and only give it the beans when the engine is thoroughly warmed. My confidence is even more since Techie fitted my bigger better brakes.

Btw, I didn't realise how heavy the last brakes were, nearly pulled a muscle lifting them out the boot. LOL. They had hardly been warn, but the difference is amazing. I'm still outbraking myself now.

Nooo not considering the cost and invalidation of the warranty.
Yeah i think im in the same boat as you then EdHorny, being young and not as much driving experience as others.
How long does it take for turbo/supercharger to warm up?
Im excited but worried about it at the same time because i dont want to bugger it up because its a lot of money especially to someone like me.

I was told the breaks ware out every 3months or so by a guy from seat which is why i opted not to go for them...
Is this true?
I would like to invest in the bigger brakes, not only are they better, they looked better :D.

Ware out after 3 months, LMAO. I had the original brakes on for 3 months and hardly wore them in, they just weren't adequate really for a car that goes like a rocket.

Turbo usually kicks in at 3 - 3,500 rpm, the gearchanges are unnoticable too. The power is great. Just cruise at first, I did. A good 4 mile should warm the car up. Best thing to do, is not give it the beans then come to a sudden stop and turn the engine off. I have been warned not too by a good friend, apparently it's not good for the turbo.

Last thing, watch out for kerbs, these alloys stick out, I recently had to avoid some clown and clipped a kerb, 2 weeks to get my wheel refurbed.

Ohh ok, so its well worth investing?
He said this was with the old cupra prakes made by brembo...
May have to raise the £1100 or whatever it is for the brakes. How much does servicing cost for these aswell?

Yeahhh i noticed, even seen the white one in Letchworth the Chris drives but havent seen another. I prefer the wheels that where in the concept picture, similar to the FR wheels, i wonder if theyll be bringin them out :?

What add-ons did you get on yours?

Bluetooth and the Dakota Red paint, but I now have original Seat Sport Brakes fitted. I think the brakes are about £900 fitted. I'm happy now. I hope the roads get repaired soon. They are a state at the minute. You can feel every bump with this suspensions. The folding mirrors are great too.

With mine i have ordered Dakota red paint, Bi-Xenons (are they that bluey white colour, because in youtube videos ive seen they dont look it.) USB/AUX and Bluetooth.
May now look to invest in the brakes.

Yeahhh im driving a 1.4sc sport and i can feel the bumps in the road. Do you know if the suspension is uprated from mine to yours? Or the same.

Yeah folding mirrors look great! Love the way the fold up, similar to bmw.

Last night i dropped my mate off outside a night club and got told i had a foglight out, i then spent the next 5mins explaining to the officer how technologically advanced my car and Seat are, he was amazed. Haha! Love it!

Hi Ed , Just a quickie, I,ve just completed 700miles in my Boca and am starting to increase the throttle ,I,ve noticed a "strange noise in the Low Rev region ,is this the "Supercharger" as I,ve not had one of these on my previous cars, only Turbo,s .
I hope it is the Supercharger!!.How would you describe the noise to me !!.

Mk2 Cupra, i had to show him that my fogs wernt on, only my lights were and that its a factory fitted option. He was actually more interested then worrying about ticketing me.

Bocawata, im the same as you, never had a car with a supercharge, or a turbo actually! But ive hard cars with a supercharger, and read things and the supercharger makes a wining noise, like a slightly high pitched screeching..

The TSI engine runs two air dampers, one before and one after the charger and a big foam filled jacket around it to dampen the noise down, damn it.

They are pretty well intergrated into the system, not really viable unless you plan on changing the entire inlet system.

Bocawata, I gave it some boot in a multi-storey carpark with my stereo off and windows open and I heard the whining of the Supercharger. Plus, people at work who have been outside killing themselves (smoking) and have heard me creep around the entrance road and pull up they said they could hear the supercharger, they always know when I've arrived, hehe.

Another thing I like is when the engine is at about 3 - 3,500 rpm put the cruise control on and listen to the engine note. A nice hum. But when you floor it, it has a good beefy sound too it, not a bad sounding 1.4.

I'm happy I got me wheel back from refurb now, means I can put the '50mph max' spare away and drive properly.

ED

Also, as what usually happens with a thread, this one has become an info sharing thread and gone off topic. Oops.

Was the damage on one of the rear wheels?I was under the impression the spacesaver can't fit over the larger brakes?
