1st ok i understand where your coming from but like poverty says revo ran there k1 with the exact same mods as me for a fair while and not everyone can afford to blow £2.5k on all the mods required straight away.

2nd you carnt adjust the fuel settings on revo until you get revo stage 2+ code hence why i got it.

3rd i know it isnt fully stage 2+ yet (intake is in the post) and my car wasnt running too good either with the poof of black smoke around 5000rpms which needs logging on vagcom but point taken dj ;).

im glad i put on the rollers as somethings not quite right whopfully we can have a better comparison next time round blade with all the hardware to go with stage 2+ and the smoke problem solved.

Not wanting to be picky about it but I was not aware that Revo ran stage 2+ code with just a pump and exhaust.

The purpose of stage 2+ is to take advantage of the fuel pump, but you can increase the fuel settings on a Revo car by way of making the fuel number smaller. I know this because I know of a car that ran all the stage 2+ modifications on stage 1 code, and another with all the mods and stage 2 code.

A car with all the mods for Stage 2+ (pump, exhaust, intake, intercooler) can run stage 2+ at fuel 9 with no issues. Therefore, if you are running Stage 2+ code with a stock intake or uprated panel filter or carbonio type thing, the car will be running pretty rich as the intake is really restrictive.

You will find that your numbers will increase with an uprated intake though Rob as the intake should give as much gain as a Turbo Back Exhaust.

thanks for the info dj, it shouldnt be long before intake is on and also s3 cooler hopfully within the next month.

it would seem looking at the dyno graphs the car is running rather rich at settings b8 t5 f6(which was the settings when rr'd) since then ive changed the settings to b8 t5 f9 as the less fuel the better until i can get an intake on.

the rather rich state of the car may be the reason for the 317bhp. dpj kindly posted the graphs for revo to look at anyway and go from their.

hi ricky, just to add, with regards to your figures, i'd say there pretty much right. my mates edition 30 is same engine as yours and his would be just behind me with a mapped lcr. with regards to your bluefin query, the same mate with the edition 30 has got it done to his car. its a great map, very linear with no torque spikes, he was running bout 310+bhp, and now with a decat and full turbo back exhaust he's been dyno'd producing over 350+ bhp. i'd say your not mapped as the power curve looks very similar to a standard car. vag always underestimate there figures. a remap would take you straight past 300+ bhp with most companies.

good luck. gulzar

Its great to find that similar cars are performing in the same way and that my car is still in standard form. I will go with the Bluefin at the end of the year and do another RR soon after.

Cheers

RobH, were you not worried about your car having BIG issues on the RR if there was already a problem with it?
I wouldn't have my car on a RR if there was a known issue with it

The other thing I notice is that my peak torque figure is less than yours Blade.

At Ricky - my graph was very similar to yours when my car was standard - torque was all over the place like yours is. I dont think your car is mapped going by the graph.

Cheers djhorace. Ryan mentioned that a full TBE would smooth out the torque curve. I just need to see if I can pick up a used one and see if Piper will stikk offer one to mate to my Milltek Cat-Back for £400.

Since alot of the dyno graphs posted on this topic are Dastek graphs, i'd like to chime in -

There are many variables which will change the figures shown and the customers perseption of how well there car is running.

1- Most of these graphs show a 4th gear pull, with the Cupras being 6 speed the dyno run 'should' be done in fifth gear as this will be the closest to a 1:1 ratio. Running in a lower gear will result in higher WHP figures, the Dastek uses the coastdown losses to measure drag which is then added to the WHP figure to give a BHP figure. Example, a run in 4th gear may net 300whp 350bhp, a run in 5th gear may net 280WHP 350BHP.

2- The ramp rate used will have a direct effect on the spool up times, a slower ramp rate will result in quicker spoolup as the dyno loading is greater. Example, RR2 may net full boost by 2750rpm, RR1 ( quicker )may net full boost by 3250rpm, directly affecting Torque and power readings in this area. The ideal scenario being to match the ramp rate to the expected accelleration rate seen on the road.

The point being, use dynos as tuning tools, for direct comparison on the same vehicle under the same conditions to evaluate gains.

Hope this helps.

I have images that show this on the Dastek dyno, but cant link them until i have 15 posts. D'Oh

Excellent post GotBoost.

I just used the RR to confirm a 20% gain in power before and after the remap. There are too many variables for me to be certain the peak numbers are accurate. Assuming I had stock power beforehand the 20% gain is quite a healthy figure...
