i always preferred the look of the 309 instead but then i also preffered the mini clubman and hate the Jag E type and prefer the lambo's to ferrari's and evo's to scooby's so i guess i'm just plain wierd really -

flapper thats my thought exatley!hang on does that make me wired too?
if you for no reason whatsoever daydream of parts and cars and how they could be crazily hybrid together or frankensteined to the extent that you convince yourself you can/should and would make em if time/money ever allowed even to the extent of doodling 12 x A4 books worth of notes/diagrams over 10 years and not once ever going back over em :) then ye - join the club

the last time i saw a scooby turbo under the bonnet i had memory vision of a mid engined bedford rascal pickup that i once brake tested so hard in it got stuck at 45 degrees up on its front bumper, but hey it's my cross to bear

sorry PGW back to 205's try and avoid messed with ones although a standard one is gonna costs a lot more it's more worthwhile in the long run

still prefer the 1.9 309 in black [B)]

Light chuckable car, for me would have to be MK1 Golf GTi or a Polo G40.

I used to work for peugeot and i found the 205 to be too er french. In that everything felt like it was about to fly apart and that in a crash the occupants would also be write offs, coupled to an awful interior and terrible seats. HOWEVER it can bloody handle!!!!

I respect the 205 i know what its capable of and it performance repects the 1.9 is better than the Golf GTi of its day, but 20 years on the Golf is a much better all round car .

despite how good the car is, i think i would rather have a mk2 gti ibiza. always loved them and never been a fan of pug's, ok the ibiza is not the best handling car ever

but it looks great still after 10 years, its german so its tough and its quick in a straight line as well

a few alarm bells have started ringing after a bit of a text conversation with the seller, firstly the car has no tax, which is kinda my fault for not spotting that on the ad it didn't mention any tax!! doh!! secondly, he's just told me that he drives it to work everyday with no tax! (very dodgy) and he's very keen to swap this week. it does look like a tidy motor, but from my point of view, if he's flippant enough to disregaurd the law and risk his licence then who's to say that the car has been looked after properly? oh, one last thing, does the 205 have a heavy clutch like the ibiza? one of the other big reasons for selling it was (apart from really really wanting a light, more chuckable car!) was that cos my left leg is totally kerfooked, i do struggle with heavy clutches.

check this out!! the guy is willing to drive the car all the way from brighton to my front door to get the swap!!! thats 140 miles each way!! with no tax!!:-o:-o works out well for me cos if the car can make it 140 miles in one go then that's kinda by default checking it's reliability!

Yeah this is sounding more and more unbelievable by the moment, he's going to drive an untaxed, so its uninsured also car 140 miles to swap for an 8v GTI and he's desperate to get rid of it this week going that far to see it gone.

Something tells me there's something about to be seriously wrong with that 205, not like the 8v Ibiza is a hard find and if his 205 is a minter then why isn't he selling it for a good price?

Don't mean to be a wet blanket but i would scrutinise every inch of that 205!!
