2021 Seat Leon missing front camera

My 2021 Leon Phev (Excellence trim) that I bought as a used car does not have a front multi function camera at the top of the windscreen. Were some of these cars built without them?

The build sheet says it has a camera, it will have left the factory with a camera

Hmm if the camera was disconnected there would be permanent fault when the car is started

Mystery is solved - much to my embarrassment! My reason for not believing my car had not got a front camera was because I asked a mechanic at a Seat dealer why I couldn't access road sign recognition on my infotainment screen. He got in the car and also couldn't work it out, until he put his hand behind the mirror hand and announced it had been supplied without a camera. As I was in a hurry I took him at his word and thought no more about it, until I contacted this forum. From the replies I have received I have just had a look and can now see that there is a camera there! I do not know why I never checked before!
I have also read the manual more thoroughly and see that there is an asterisk beside the details of road sign recognition, which indicates that this feature is not available in some countries. Elsewhere on this forum I have discovered that the UK is one of these countries.
Hence my embarrassment. Many thanks for all you replies.

Road sign recognition is available and works extremely well in the UK, it's just that your car was specced without it

Was it an optional extra when the car was new? Can it be retrofitted? I imagine it must just be a bit of software?

Yes it works fine in UK and on continent too. Its just an option that can/could be enabled .

Seat don’t offer it as an accessory, and it costs a small fortune to activate - we do offer it though

Unfortunately you are 250 miles from me, and it's only an application that would be nice to have - but I don't desperately need.
