Hey all,

After moving away from Seat's, having previously owned a MK3 Ibiza Cupra and now owning a MINI Cooper S, I am due to return!

I initially went to view a Seat EXEO ST 170 tdi, however have possibly convinced myself I dont need that space for the sake of 1/2 times a month where I have to tow my bike to a trackday with all my gear. Squeezing it in a Leon would overall be much better!

So, whilst attempting to view the Exeo, I came across a 2011 Leon FR 2.0tsi with 12k miles on the clock. Immaculate condition and in the much desired Speed Blue..

I've reserved the car with a refundable deposit and am due to take it out on Wednesday for a test drive, is there anything to look out for or is this an easy buy?

Also if anyone has one and has fitted a towbar with the bumper blanking plate, could you let me know as I shall be doing this and would appreciate some advice

I appreciate that it has 2yrs warranty on it, but would just like confirmation that its a good purchase!

Cheers
Tom

I already have a 2011 FR TSi and have been very pleased with it. Much prefer it to my 2010 FR TDi. Average fuel is around the 35 mpg mark although has dropped to 32 during this cold snap. Has been faultless since I brought it new last June never missing a beat and always being a hoot to drive!!

Not allot really you can get the odd rattle but the EA888 engine is proving to be pretty reliable. FL Leon in general seems to be a little better made and more reliable than pre-fl Leon.

What are the differences between the MY10 and MY11 models? I just want to make sure that it is definately a 2011 model and not late registered!

The facelift engines seem much more economical - my pre-facelift DSG model doesn't get anywhere near that! Averaging about 27!

on a 2011 FR (speed blue and all the FR+ toys) at about 5k miles just now and love it. Chipped it at 3k miles with a bluefin (they give a warrantee) and am much happier with the extra poke. That may just be what I came from tho.

I also have a hidden towbar on it - the FR is the fastest that I could find someone to fit a 'bar to - they wouldn't touch the Cupra or the R. Its on, not used it yet but it looks like it should work. Indespesion did it for me, as Seat wouldn't do the FR either. Get the blanking plate frist tho then they can make sure it fits right.

Not much else to say. Great car so far. I really love the duel personality it has. Drive it around at less than 2500 rpm and it gives decent MPG and is really relaxed and you can still overtake like that. Or, decide you want to go faster, keep it over 4000 rpm and its a different beast with loads of grip - great fun and really rewarding to drive.

FL are more ecomomical still can drink when you put your foot down but the EA888 lump in the FL FR has better low down torque so you don't need to stir it has much to make decent progress. I have seen 44mpg on a long run to Devon :D
