More goodies arrived today thanks to a forum member, annoyingly my wife’s taken the Leon to work today so they’ll also be for another day...

Just posting as tomorrow is a day for getting the tools out... lowering and wheels spacers going on, also going to spray the discs at the hub and possibly the calipers back to silver.

Also having an internal debate on what to spend my pennies on next. Fancy a new a stereo as I’d like BT connection but also want to get ARBs... just can’t decide at all.

Okay... that was a complete fail... couldn’t get the drop links off as the middle bit was pre-rounded and didn’t have a spare to put on if I cut it off... now the drop link is loose and the car sounds like a bag of spanners.

I’ve booked it in to a local garage to sort the drop links on Thursday.

Ah well, can’t win them all.

Progress at last... and the long awaited photos!!

Forgive the state of the car, I’ve been really busy and not had time to clean it recently.

Lowered and spaced..

I’ve also managed to get the arm rest in, exactly what I wanted. Best upgrade ever. Ha.

That’s it for now, debating next steps. Induction kit, ARBs or stereo.... giving it some thought, but input welcome.

In the meantime got a little delivery of detailing goodies, including a free sample wax from auto finesse.

Looking good!. Personally I'd probably go ARB next. Will greatly improve the cornering. An intake won't do much on it's own except make a whooshing sound. So dealers choice really :D

But I really want the whooshing sound! lol!

ARB is looking like the most likely, i want to get in feeling better in the corners, the stereo is only a minor annoyance and the intake kit can wait as I only need that when i decide to do other engine stuff.

Need to take it in and get the tracking checked as the steering wheels is off centre now which can happen when you take the struts off, so ill pop it in tomorrow and will then try and get it cleaned.

Oh and front splitter... Not loads of options for me on that front, but found a reasonable looking one on eBay thats not too expensive so if I dont like it i'll just throw it in the bin!

For no apparent reason other than I found AwesomeGTI I am now seriously considering getting Porsche 911 or Audi R8 oil and coolant caps... seems a reasonable way to spend (waste) £60!

Also despite saying i wasnt going to im debating changing the wheels to 18 or 19s depending on the price.... had a feeling this might happen!

Don't forget to throw in a billet oil dipstick for just under a hundred!

Okay, quick update. No performance mods to speak of as I have spent some money sorting the head unit, I found that skipping through tracks on my phone was distracting me far too much from the road and as such I wanted apply play, so I picked this Pioneer stereo up and dropped it into the car.

Works well and looks good, I’ll be likely getting a little sub just to add to the boy racer feel and allowing me to improve the overall sound by taking the bass away from the standard speakers.

Probably looking at ARBs and ALKs next.

Its the "cheap" Pioneer SPH-DA130DAB, seemed pretty good from playing around with a few, 50w per channel through the headunit which is plenty, once ive got a sub and can just run mid and high through the speakers itll seem quite a bit louder and clearer, the standard speakers are pretty good really.

Need to mount microphone but debating where is best to make it work but keep it out of sight, ive never really liked them but would like to use the functionality.

I went with the Alpine SBE. For around 100 + cables, etc. I have it on around 25% power and it shakes the windscreen.

Does that have a built in amp? Looks a tidy sub, really like alpine stuff also JL audio make really good subs and speakers.
