Fricking el. Are they made of kryptonite? Yeah 100% clean them with a wire brush n brake cleaner and reuse. They were in excellent condition anyway.

They are indeed! I figured if they were cheap I’d replace them but as they are clearly made from a precious metal I will reuse them.

Mock fit tomorrow with any luck. Just want to make sure it all fits before buying anything ! Lol

Also there’s no way I’m going to be able to mock up the calipers today, it’s -7 with think freezing fog. Hands were frozen just vacuuming the inside of the cars.

Never been a fan of the blue, only a few pounds to get black ones so all good.

I'm hoping to get the cars cleaned on Saturday / Sunday as well, so cold here though the water would just freeze so itd be really hard to do.

I really want to try out the new Autoglym wheel mousse I bought. But no chance of me pressure washing the car in this, the water gets in every crack, the car will freeze and fall apart! I'm half convinced it's washing it in the freezing cold that finished off both rear callipers.

Haha. I can imagine pulling back the curtains to a pile of Leon bits on the drive!

Just bought some nice Brembo brake pads and hovering over the matching discs. Euro Cap Parts have 50% off brake pads and discs at the moment... just can’t decide on the discs given the ones @Legojon gave me are pretty good... but then there’s something about new discs and pads... lol

Although to be fair ECP always have offers on, I’m hoping to clean the discs up and get them painted tomorrow so I doubt i really need them.

Okay, so the bolt that snapped aint going to be coming out easily and the other one is going the same way... They, as I was, are really confused as they've never seen this happen. The bit they bolt to is replaceable so they are just gong to replace it. Not particularly cheap but does the job properly. Glad i didnt get the new discs in the end... ha

Well, clean them up and use them for fitting at least anyway. Then when you see what they look like tidy, decide if your going to keep them or not. I imagine 345mm discs aren't cheap even from ECP.

With the offer £110, so not too bad, thats not for performance ones though but i dont think I will need performance one really. As you say clean them up and go from there. Just need some caliper paint and the like.

I try not to brake. Cause it's boring. My J-Hook discs are ace. But I'm pretty sure their the reason I've eaten a set of brake pads in 5000 miles. At this rate I'll be changing pads and oil twice a year!!
