looking good man. just ordered some pressed plates for myself, hopefully theyll be legal, it said so on the website. any other mods planned? iv just fly eyes mine recently. only seem to have problems with the edges peeling away a bit when they get wet =S re wrapped them the other day with as much wrapped over and theyre holding well =)

id go for a rear de badge next =) piece of cake to do. dental floss, hair drier, tar remover and plenty of elbow grease =)

Cheers man

I put the fly eyes on with a hairdryer and make sure they were all trimmed neat and tucked around the rear. Even with the jet wash, no sign of them peeling yet.

The first set of pressed plates i got were illegal and poor quality but these ones are 100% legal now.

The boot needs a full respray as bubbling and rust beside the nearside tail light. Will get that done shortly and the bump strips on the doors sanded down smooth and colour coded at the same time.

Got some other mods planned shortly.
On the look out for some OEM looking 17's (Ibiza Cupra or Facelift FR)
Front upper strut brace

Got some parts to be fitted shortly though just need to order the clutch and then get it booked in
EGR delete
EGR cooler delete
Intake manifold removed and cleaned
Remap (live map on a RR)
Full front end polybushed included lower engine mount
Alloy pedals

Liking what you've done there, definately subtle but tasteful

Thanks mate. trying to not go OTT with the cosmetic changes and try and do small changes to make it a bit more tasteful

Some more progress.

JVC single din with Bluetooth & hands free.
A lot better than the standard one. Can buffer all my playlists and calls / texts from my S3 to it.

Plans soudn good bud, and I'm really liking the throaty tone from the exhaust..is it just 2.25 from the turbo back then into 2.5 mid pipe? If I were you I'd get rid of the backbox too ;)

Cheers mate.
Yeah it's 2.25" on the downpipe, but it's much shorter than the Milltek downpipe so my mid section where it opens to 2.5" sits closer to the turbo than the standard mid section. Was a lot cheaper than the Milltek so can't complain.

I've heard a few without the backbox but gonna keep mines on i think. It's a daily driver and 50 miles a day to work and back so need it to be not too loud.
Backbox is a straight pipe and packed at the sides of it, so makes sure it gives the same gains as the mufflerectomy

Cheers. Always puts a smile on my face when i put the foot down.
Be smiling a lot more with a remap though!

Was completely custom built this one.
Was cheaper to have this made and the guy fit it, with it guaranteed as long as i own the car than it was just to buy the Milltek.

Needs to go back up to have some cat heatshields welded onto it for the new MOT rules this year.

Ah fair enough mate.
All I've got on my Leon currently is the mufflerectomy to give the owl sound from the VNT veins but want a bit more range to it so might go for a custom de0cat and straight pipe soon.

What cat heatshields? :S have I missed something?

They introduced it into the MOT this month that if a diesel has a cat or particulate filter as standard it's a fail if it's been removed.
With the cat heatshields welded onto my exhaust it'll look like it still has a cat on it, but it won't have.

Oh okay so it'll basically just be heatshields made to look like you still have the cat on?

Yeah that new rule is the only thing stopping my from going de-cat at the moment.. I did know the center manager at my local Kwik Fit so could get away with it on my old cars but he's left there now..

Yeah that's it. With the cat heatshields it means the pipe doesn't need to be cut to even weld in a cat or fake cat.
They just weld over the pipe and it'll look like there's a cat on it.

Was back at the exhaust place today as they changed the MOT rules this month so if you remove the cat on a diesel it then becomes a fail.

The owner likes his cars as well of course

His old daily driver (engine blown - now drives a 306 saloon)

Mk2 in for some paint work

After, now with cat installed (although much further down the pipe compared to OEM)

No mate, opted for the Sachs DMF set up with organic disc and upgraded pressure plate. It's a daily driver and one of my friends who used to run a single mass said best to avoid and he wouldn't have one again. Sad thing is my clutch is fine just now, but the DMF in it just now is on it's last legs.

Once this is all fitted at the same time as the Powerflex bushes, EGR and cooler will be removed as well.
Will pull off the inlet and give it a good clean then when it's all back together a live map to try and get a reliable 160-170bhp. Don't want to go over 1.55bar of boost really

That's a killer setup for just 170bhp. You looking at bigger turbo in future?

I'm looking at Sachs SRE with Darkside SMF, had a listen to one of their kits fitted to an Ibiza isn't that bad and considering I'm running 410ft/lbs, DMF would just die too quickly :(

Yeah, the DMF is needing done and i might go FMIC and bigger hybrid in the future, so wanted to make sure it would be more reliable long term. It's 105k now and i don't launch it hard or that so would be nice to see it hit 160k
If i was going over 360ft/lb then i'd go for smf as well. Are you running an LSD?

No, don't have LSD money!

An uprated clutch is making me swell up with tears at the price. If a good priced Gearbox with LSD came up, I'll snap it up in a heart beat :)
