1.6tdi remap? tunerbox?

Custom-Code do a DPF-Delete and Remap for the PD170 engine, i guess (hope) something similar's in the pipeline for the 1.6crtdi.

it's a tuning box and not a proper map, but it's progress.
Suspect it's a redistributed one of these. Claiming 125BHP and 300nm.

Nice one night flight some good info there. Seems like a tuning box is the only way to go on these engines, bypas the ecu althogther maybe? Impressed with the bhp and torque gains was what I was hoping to get out of it. Is anyone gonna bite the bullet and get one.…?

Yeah, if you blow the engine up with a remap, make sure it gets taken off before taking it to the dealership, heh.

I had 2 new turbos and 1 new engine before i traded it in..

There are some issues that exist with anti-tuning software built into VAG Common Rail engines, and as far as I'm aware this is the only major factor that was preventing companies from tuning them.

Strange that it's the 1.6 that no-ones having any luck with , the 2.0CRtdi has a remap available for it. the fr/cupra have maps just about available.

It's a conspiracy i tell you! Thought I saw a remap out for the two litre ages ago so was looking forward to one for our 1.6. So what's next? Take the anti remap chip out of our ecu and swap it with the the 2.0 one? Got to be a way around it always is! Where's my soldering iron…?

So, has anyone bought one of these yet? Seems too good to be true for me.

RemapScience claim to be able to do a remap. Details here. But the actual ECU remap is a fraction of the performance increase compared to the chip provided by Diesel Tuning UK.

Why's there such a difference between the chip and the remap?

I'd guess because thats the remap for the petrol engine, as a non-turbo engine it'll not gain as much bhp from remaping as a TDI.

1.6 TDi re-map Available

Hi - my first post on here - I'm just ordering my Ibiza now - just like the guy who posted the original question I have to take the 1.6 as a company car and I was looking to get the power boosted up a bit - I spoke with Custom Code head office earlier today an they said no problem with this model, I just need to take it to the head office (up north somwhere) and let them have it for most of the day - £450 - fully reversable -

I guess once they have cracked the anti re-mapping software and put it on the rolling road (they have a custom rolling road apparently) then the file will be distributed to the dealers around the country but it appears there is no software for this yet as no-one has given them one to play with - mine won't be available till August so after a couple of months i'll take it up and let you gus know what the results are

Had to confirm this for myself, so I emailed CC:

Hi Daniel,

Many thanks for your enquiry.

We are able to carry out the Phase 1 software for the 1.6tdi engine. As this
vehicle runs on a EDC-17 management system it will be tuning protected,
which does make the job slightly more labour intensive. For this reason the
phase 1 is £450inc VAT and we will need the vehicle for just over half a
day. This would need to be carried out at Custom-Code HQ in Chesterfield,
Derbyshire.

As yet we don't currently list the potential power gains out of this vehicle
but would believe to see roughly 35BHP and 40ft/lb of torque.

£450 for a 30% BHP Increase... pretty good me thinks. Definitely going to get it done within the next few months. Chesterfield's only an hour away from me.

Badly i'd imagine, given how badly it handles general driving However, custom code kindly do a DPF-delete package for the 1.6tdi iirc.

Well it doesn't look like i'll be able to take mine up there anytime soon - i'm being sent to Zurich for six months by my firm - I havn't received my car yet so I'm going to try and put the delivery off for 6 onths as i can't take it over there let me know if anyone gets it re-mapped and let me know the figures

I have got some pretty good results from a tuning module ,these have improved in leaps n bounds over the last few years especially the 'multi-channel 'ones as fitted to our 1.6cr ibiza sport . Really improves the low down pick-up but still testing..............
