The fuelly app calculates it correctly as far as I've tested. Did you do your first calculation from full tank to full tank?

No, my first entry on Fuelly would’ve been my second fill up which wasn’t queue on the red light.

I don't remember, it was 4 years ago and I think I've used it 350 times since then. I'm sad I know.
I typically get 30-35 mpg with careful driving around town (usually in eco mode) - and that’s in London with very stop start and slow traffic.
On a motorway run with cruise control on 70-75mph and in normal mode I’ll get 45-50mpg typically.
Was hoping to get closer to the claimed 57.6mpg on runs but I guess this was before they introduced the WLTP following dieselgate
Long term after ~15,000 miles my calculated average is 41.5mpg.
Overall I find this engine a decent blend of performance when you want it and efficiency!
