it'd be more work than is worthwhile. both cars swapping all front end components. And rear end components, then try & rewire both cars?

My prediction - you have a 2.016v in a 1.4 & a big pile of bits that don't work

shud of maybe explained it a bit more. i have spent lots of money on the 1.4's body work and it cannot be transfered across to a 2ltr 16v.

i am selling my work car a 1.8 16v clio to be able to buy the 16v beeza and will need to buy another work car after doing the engine swap.

me and my mates thort that if i was to try and break the rest of the 16v then i wud maybe get £500 but if i was to put the 1.4 in it some one may pay £1500 for it or if not i could use it for work!!!

What's left to sell of the 16v once you take the front end & rear beam off? certainly not £500 of anything.

I would seriously work out what you need

OI leave the MK2 gang alone we are not all chavs. Some of just leave the car as is and uprate suspension give it an exhaust and a set of wheels and some HUGE stoppers.

In answer go with m0rk he is simply right. I own a 1.4 too and looked into doing this. It has been discussed to death here. It aint worth the time the money or the effort. Honest do not bother.

As for not getting bodywork transfered yes you bleedin can you just dont want to!! But why do all that damn bpdywork anyway because when you want a bigger engine or somthing faster guess what...............all of your meccano and super glue is on the one you no longer want

If you want to go to the hassel, then pay a company to stick a 1.8 20vT in there and make it worth while. I'm sure if you did the sums there woulnd't be much in it, and there'd be less of the   from round here lol

1.8T MK2 Conversion
just go for it mate, youll love it once youve done it especially if you do it yourself. insurance would be an issue thats what put me off doing it a bit ago but i intend to do it also just dont tell anyone on here when you do it and youll be fine, just drop a couple of sly questions if you get stuck...

"...lets say my friend wanted to put..."

oh and ***old 'uns***
does the horlics before bed work? (to get you to sleep)
i heard the advert and it takes me ages to get to sleep so was thinking of giving it a whirl?

No really dont bother. Buy a GTi or as smithy said get a 20 VT lump put in. I had prices for both and the 20VT was about 300-400 cheaper in actual fact!! The reason being is the conversion has been done more and therefore parts etc are easier to sort!!

I think as previously mentioned on another discussion that the 1.4 subframe is thewrong one for the 2.0 16v or any other lump so its a b1tch to do!!

i have been thinking about what to do with my car for over a year. i love it apart from the front bumper and the engine i wuddnt change a thing.

i have thort about getting a good clio williams, rst, fst, vr6 or a 16v beeza but i dont really wanna sell mine to get another ibiza that is gonna be standard. my ibiza turns heads as u go down the street and a standard one doesnt. even if if isnt to everyones taste i like it.

also i want the challange of putting a new engine in it. my mates are mechanics and can help me do this but they have asked me to ask if its straight forward so far the best answer i have is
