085 Gearbox

I thought it would try this question over here on this group as there are more Ibizas than Cordobas on the roads.
My 1999 1.6 petrol Cordoba Vario gearbox is noisy and needs replaced. The gearbox code is DCK and the engine code is ALM .
Can i fit any 085 box, i believe the ratios will be different but will it really make much differance if i replace it with one from a 1.4 model Ibiza or similar?
Thanks

No its not a direct swap

also the 085 gearboxes are weak and eat diff bearings within 60-80k so goodluck finding a good secondhand one,

i have rebuilt a 085 gearbox and wouldn't do it again.

the 1.6 gearbox is the one for you and is generally the stronger unit

Thanks for the reply. My car has a 085 gear box fitted so i thought it would be the same as the other cars. could you please tell me any differances that i should look out for .
