A couple of weeks ago, while at a very busy roundabout, my gearbox decided to packup - well not totally, but gears one and two disappeared on me !
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the problem turned out to be a broken gear selector fork which resulted in my gearbox being taken apart, the broken part replaced and the unit reconditioned. This was not cheap.
My Leon has only done 37,000 miles. Not happy at all !!!!
I had it fixed at a non-SEAT dealer as I'd recently been fleeced by my local SEAT dealer for a 4 year service and didnt fancy a repeat performance.
I'm thinking of writing to SEAT as a gearbox should last a lot longer than this.
Has anyone else had any similar issues ?
Can anyone offer advise as to how I should approach this with SEAT ?
Any (constuctive!) comments welcome,
Cheers,
Paul
