01314 engine control module

[SEATCOOBER]

right was on my way shopping put my foot down was at 6000 revs then the car hesitated lost boost then came back, drove on further and the traction light come on then about 10 mins later the engine managment come on, got home checked on vagcom

16486 maf (G70) signal to low
01314 engine control module 79-00 please check faullt codes

the last code will not clear with vagcom and traction light is on all the time

new ecu is it?????????????????????????
any help will be much apprciated!!

wouldnt say you need an ecu but you do need a maf

kinda guessed that but is this giving me this hard fault that can not be deleated?

more than likey i would change the maf and then see if you can delete the fault

I'd try a new Maf, clear the code and then see if the other one will clear.

the car seems to boost as normal though will i be able to see if maf is goosed by looking at the g/s readings, and what readings should i be seeing if its ok???or goosed???

g/s whlist driving they should be within 200 of each of otheri think, sometimes when your maf is buggered it still boosts fine

I must admit I haven't seen that before, but it's saying the engine module has a fault code and the ecu is going to be stroppy until you fix what's causing that code.

well did a mass air flow check toady, block 02 and the maf is reading nothing all through the rev range so maf is goosed, hopefully because this is a hard fault this is whats causing my 01314 code!!

right bought a new maf today and have horrible boost issues sometimes its there sometimes it isnt, when i blip the trottle there is a hesitation and it hesitates through the rev rage as well, u/s on fit maf is this and whats the comeback on this with gsf???

i had both these codes last week after putting 2 bosch units on the first being faulty both codes cleared and so did traction control light after a working maf sensor was fitted

Usefull info, my LC has the same two codes and sounds like it was triggered in the same way you describe (foot full in 3rd then boost cut)
Will be ordering a maf tomorrow from Seat, my experience with the recon Bosch units from factors etc was pretty poor.
