As title really, what are peoples preferances - and does it really make any 'real' difference Noise or throttle response

I love the ping type noise when fitted reversed, however it doesnt work with a cold side kit so mine is fitted the correct way round. I voted for reverse :)

whats the difference then jamie???

I never tried it, as when a manufacturer supply fairly basic to fit parts like this, then I fit it as per the instructions demonstrate (pending they are accurate of course)

all it does is create a different noise, no improvement etc in performance

Form over function in this case

Actually was reading on the web the other day that in reverse it the noise is created buy boost escaping quicker with IMHO means it out quick to go back in allowing turbo to spool quicker after gear change thus reducing turbo lag :) so has some benefit

on the road difference I cant see any noticeable improvement at all, unless you are just dragging the car and worried about shaving .1 off a second of your 1/4 mile time. For most of the cars on here, its more of a noise thing rather than performance

I actually found that my car ran worse with it reversed. It was more hesitant and boost felt less severe...something to think about. I personally think having it reversed is illogical in terms of it's function. The piston in the DV should be pushing the presurrised boost air downwards into the TIP, in standard fitment this is exactly what it does when the vacuum drops the piston. In reverse, the vacuum is pulling the piston open at a sideways angle, allowing the presurrised air to escape through a smaller outlet into the TIP and then when the vacuum drops the piston, it's shoving it back through into the charge pipe.
