Yer we had that diagram printed out & even grabbed my laptop to take another look but couldn't work out where all the pieces of pipe should have ended up. the way i read it there would have been quite a few loose ends of pipe work.

Though it would have been a lot easier if we had had the right size vac pipe & jubilee clips. :p so much for short skirt & cleavage flattery.

Though in good tradition all is well thats bogged well, a little electrical tape added to the ends of the vac pipe to bulk it out for the clips to bite on to soon had it sorted for a temporary measure.

i got what the instructions told me to get :p even you saw that ;)

I have just done the N249 bypass and did it off that diagram. Those pipes you mentioned you can either take off completely or stow them safely away by the N249 valve. the theory is by bypassing it it renders it useless and does not need to be connected to the vacuum circuit. If you want you can remove the N249 completely i think Damoegan did a guide. Ill try and get a pic of mine i replaced the tubing with red vac hoses so it might be easier to see.
