Ive been quoted £75 for an reset of my airbag light! I know you can reset them yourself with a diagnostic tools. i've brought about 5 and had to return them all back as none of them work. Does anyone know of any Diagnostic tools that can reset an airbag light for a seat ibiza mk V??

Maybe I am as dumb as you, but I did not "fall over" a link to a map of registered VCDS owners anywhere on this site! Apologies if I am dumb/stupid!

Some other VW Group owners/users forums have a link to a map and I think that there is a stand alone VCDS users map somewhere on the internet.

I am an owner/user of VCDS but only give support to friends and family - so I have not registered on any VCDS map, basically while I am happy enough to do things on my own cars, I don't feel competent enough to mess with other people's cars - just being careful and honest here!

Edit:- we are being a bit dumb/stupid, there is a sub section for VCDS requests, but there are as usual a few 0 responses (24 out of 40 requests?), maybe things would work better if you could message a registed user directly - as some other forums do!

when you have tried to reset the light did it go out but come back on, or stay on permanently?

it depends on the fault and what caused it, as if its a problem that the the reset doesn't fix then no system will get rid of it and it will need a physical repair.
i'm surprised you have tried a good few systems with no luck as they do generally work.
did you get a fault code when you tried these?

I would never have thought about looking for that on ebay, but as usual, ebay does have everything you might want - and more!

Good point about trying to clear a fault that is still there though.

battery should be disconected (negative terminal) when removing airbag!

that's why you have the error

now only with vcds.

£75 is a fair rip off though

Probably the minimum time that can be allocated for Tech time, roughly 0.5 hour, it is the power that dealerships can get over us, that is where VCDS and other scan tools come into play - as said many times in VW Group owners/users motoring forums, "if you buy a new VW Group car, then if you have any technical ability, you must protect your wallet by buying VCDS, it is not "if" you might need it, it is "when" you will need it. Though much the same with all other marques, but so far fewer diy priced proper scan tools for all these cars systems.

Just seen the subsection, Made a request but noone has gotten back to me yet.

When i start the car the light turns off, then comes straight back on and stays lite. There's no actual fault, its happened because i was removing the airbag and silly me didn't check the negative wire for the battery. Im a **** i know lol

Hum, we are all very wise after the event! To be honest, I have always avoided messing with airbag wiring as I had read what can happen in the worst case, logging a fault is not the worst case scenario!
