speedo

my speedo is broken as it doesnt read anything. i have removed the sender from the gear box and had a look how it works, i can see the shaft is driven by a cog but at the top of the sender where the cap clicks on and the plug clips to it, i cant see how the signal goes from the spinning shaft...

ive bought a cupra and the speedo isnt working at all. the rev counter and temp gauge work. the speedo is dead and doesnt move at all. and the fuel gauge goes buzurk when its empty. i filled the car up and the gauge went to max and slowly crept down to empty as the distance increasesd, but...

ok this might be a stupid thing to ask but i was thinking about changing the colour of the decals ,spedo ect, is it as simple as changing the bulbs? or is it more involved? i fany it being blue and not red can it be done?

Anybody seen issues with there speedo and correct speed? Mine seems to be out; at 90 on the speedo my snooper reads 85, and i've tested with 2 x different types of Snooper with the same results. Any idea's?:confused:

hi my mate has a mk2 ibiza gti 8v and he has a problem with his dash. when he turns the car on the rev counter,speedo,fuel gauga,oil temp do not work .all the lights a fine and runs perfect apart from this has any 1 had this problem before ?? if so can u help us cheers

Can anyone tell me where the speedo drive is on a 03 Ibiza with a 6 speed box. The gearbox just has a factory blank in the hole where the speedo drive is on a Golf gearbox. Is it run off the ABS? If so is it just the usual 3 wires and what colour are they? Any help would be great.

I noticed on testdrive of leon that the speedo is difficult to see below 40mph Is this just because i didnt take time to adjust the car properly (seat height, steering height etc) or is it a genuine problem??? Cheers

Is it possible for a garage to re-calibrate a speedo or do you need a rolling road to do it? Reason I ask is acording to my Sat Nav my speedo is UNDER reading by approx 5 mph which obviously is worse than over reading as im going faster than i think :blink:
