running

Just nipped out in the car, and as i set off from a set of lights it started to splutter, then seemed like its running on only 3 cylynders. Also the engine management light has come on. Has anyone else had this problem before, and if so what was the cause of it?. Its on a 2002 1.4 16v

finaly got the gearbox back in the ibiza and it moves, nice and smoothly too, no crunching at all clutch is making a a slight whiring noise but i can sort that later. the prob now it is running like a bucket of crap. starts alright, but wont rev, when u rev it it just sucks in a load of air...

My ibiza is a 1.2 and when it is ticking over it is ok, however it is difficult to set off as it trys to stall, is there any way that you can give it another 150/200 rpm on tickover???????:help:

Picked up brand new FR TDI yesterday. Company lease car, so will have for 3 years max. Should I run in gently as per manufacturers guidelines, or just give it the full beans ? Am treating very gently at the moment, but very frustrating !!!! Thanks for any advice.
