fan

When should they come on? How often?

when i start my car from cold or hot. the fan comes on and then off every 10 secs or so. i had a water leak and am waiting on a new water pump.(the one that sits at the front of the car on the drivers side) any idead what could be wrong?

Now my aircon has packed up, could this be linked to the fan problem i posted about earlier in the week...car is in for a service tomorrow so hopefully they will sort the lot. Black car with no aircon isnt fun in this heat!!!!!

Just wondering if any body has had similar probs. If i am stuck in traffic the car risess in temp as the fan doesn't come on. also my A/c doesn't work and when i turn the ignition off the turbo fan doesn't come on. any diagnoses or advice?? by the way i checked the fuses near the serial port...

i dono whether i have a problem or worrying over nothing, i dont think i have ever heard my fan come on, while im driving or when im parked, this is a problem becasue sumtime my temp, rises wot u think could be the problem

i have a mk3 ibiza, and wen i finish drving there is a funny noise cumming from the engine, sounds like a fan but i opened the bonnet and the fan isnt on, anyone esle get this noise or i got a problem?

Can anybody help ! I reckon my radiator fan isnt working cos after a while of leaving the car stationary (engine Running) the tempeture begins to creep over 90 degrees, and im pretty sure these engines always sit at 90. Can anyone tell me where the fuses are etc or what to check for. Thanks

Was reading a thread re fan problems on golf mk4's over at http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/9/209822/ShowPost.aspx#209822 Basically they are saying that if you start up and switch on the aircon then one or both your engine fans should turn slowly, appear's to be a problem with some fuse burning...

Im sure i read somewhere that you should use special VAG screenwash to stop the fan style jets blocking up.. is this right anyone heard this? The manual for the car doesnt mention anything so im thinking of getting the normal stuff......

Hi all! I have a 2001 2.0l Alhambra. The heater fan has stopped working on positions 1+2. (I have checked the fuse, there is only one!). Can anybody advise me on how to gain access to the back of the switch and to the moter its self? Rgds Cking
