fan

Ive recently fitted a FMIC and noticed that the radiator fan is on all the time even if just driving for a few minutes when its not up to temp. Is it a problem or just something to do with the aircon because it been hot the past few days? Mk4 tdi130

Now then... Had a search, apparantly the small radiator fan is supposed to stay on slow when the Air Con is on. Trouble is both fans come on fast for a quick 10 second blast every minute or so, even when the engine is cold. Nothing happens when Air Con is off. Any ideas chaps?

Does this happen to anybody else..... My fan and heater controls seem to have a mind of their own. Its all set to manual etc, then randomly the speed just goes crazy and goes to full speed, so obviously I turn it down......then just as you take ur mind of it, up it goes, almost as if it knows...

Ok iv done the search thing and there is a lot of issues with cooling fans on vag cars, but this is my problem When in traffic with air con on, both radiator fans will come on full power about every 3-5 min, I dont think they come on when driving hard to tell obviously. If i turn off aircon...

OK then... Fan working when switch end of cable bridged, Thermostat housing screws rusted in solid and hard to get too. All hoses are hot after half hour on the motorway - is this a good sign that hot water is flowing around ant that thermo open, or should I have hot and cold pipes? Hoping that...

Hi, My radiator fan aint kickin in at all. Thought I'd just change the fan as its easy enougth - but was quoted £110 !!. Should check the thermostat - but very awkward to get too (unlike the time I did my Golf Mk II) and the nuts are very rusty so I'd rather try everything else first..... anyway...

hi guys, might be an easy one to answer.. but every so often the fan inside the car just decides to go to maximum power? no A/C or 'Auto' on. Was sat at a junction today, as I pulled away there seemed to be a surge and the fan turned up to max. Any ideas?

I have a squeaky fan belt on my Ibiza and its really annoying!! My question to all you clever people is...how do you adjust it? I have had a look but i cant find any way of tightening the belt :( Please help Cheers:thumbup: Michal

Wonder if you guys could help.. The radiatior in my girlfriend's 1.4 Ibiza had cracked at the corner, coolant everywhere etc.. So I've fitted a new radiator, replaced all the coolant and tested it for leaks..so far so good. Taking it for a spin, or leaving it to idle causes it to overheat...

Why is it when i set the fan at 1 digit it stays there for a few minutes then decides to increase in speed all by itself going up to about 8 digits? Its in manual not auto so i would have expected it to stay where i set it. Any ideas?
