Sounds like the cable is frayed in my drivers side window mechanism, makes a horrible noise when going up! Am i right in thinking you have to buy the whole lot for around a 100 quid? Can you not just change the cable?

My offside rear window has stopped working, having removed the doorcard, I can hear the motor click but nothing else, so I'm guessing the motor has failed. Looks easy enough to swap over - anyone done it, anything to watch out for?

Ok I've got a new Electric window motor for the drivers side to fit. Taking the old one out to check it was broke was a nightmare. The cables which control the window kept coming unravelled from the spool on the motor. Any tips to make this job easier??
