I fought a cam belt should be changed roughly every 60000 miles, the garage I bought the car from said they fought it had a chain rather then a belt. They rang up the local...
Having lots of trouble finding out exactly when I should get my cambelt changed.
I have a Leon Mk2 FR TDI. The service books hints at 120,000km so that would be 80,000 miles which I have now. But it also mentions that type of engine at that point which is not the same as mine.
Anyone else...
Had the cam belt on the LCR about a month or so ago and yesterday the check engine light came on. Managed to read the codes out tonight and got

I have a 2004 leon cupra r225. it has just done 50k. was wondering when people recommend the cam belt being changed. also i have heard a few rumours that water pump and tensioners should be done at the same time.

My Cupra TDI has done 58k so it's time for the timing belt to be changed. I've got hold of a new timing belt + roller/tensioner etc. so I'm looking to do the job fairly soon.
Has anyone done their own belt change on the PD?
I've done a few timing belt changes myself...
As per title, i know some people have had good results using the shrick 268 inlet with the standard ABF exhaust cam
Is it possible to just buy the inlet rather than having to buy a pair?

Just bought my cupra 2 weeks ago so got it booked in for Cam Belt, Water pump (metal impella) and full service its not due one but i want to know its been done if you know what i mean. Ive been quoted just under £500.
