CupraR210DJM contacted me after seeing the results from Soundwaves detail a month and a half ago. Deano stated that his paint needed correction as the previous owner neglected this beautiful car and there was only so much he could do by hand. Since I done my last detail I was confident that I could bring back the black paint to its former glory stating that we would get a deep “slimy” black look.

As it is November we both knew time was against us so we agreed a day whereby we could start early and work till night fell upon us. Due to this time constraint certain pictures could not be taken to show the truly some truly stunning results.

Morning
I arrived at Deans house 9am and took some before pictures.

Wheels

As always I cleaned the wheels first. I agreed with Dean that we would cleaned them thoroughly and clay them after to make sure they are in decent condition until they get refurbed. I opted to use Megs APC at a dilution ration of around 4:1. Once the APC was worked in I then proceeded to wash wheel sheep wool mitt. Dean then clayed the wheels after whilst I concentrated on the paint work.

Once the wheels where cleaned I sprayed on the Snow foam to loosen the dirt before cleaning. Essential to do this to avoid causing any more swirls when washing.

Rubber seals were cleaned with Megs APC. I stress the importance of this step as rubber seals and plastics tend to hold a lot of dirt which rub off onto the mitt and could cause more swirls! No pictures were taken unfortunately to show how much dirt came off!

Car was then washed with Meguairs NXT Gen shampoo.

Car was looking pretty clean and showing good reflections - good sign that the car is being looked after despite there being swirls. I must state the paint work was silky smooth so credit again to Dean as this definitely made my life easier claying the car 3 months before.

I clayed the car as a precaution to ensure when machine polishing we got the best possible finish.

The car looked pretty clean at this point however the swirls showed up in all their glory under the sunlight.

Halogen lights where setup and upon inspection the swirls looked very light. I opted for the Menzerna 106FA on a compound pad.

MASSIVE Thank you to CupraR210,DJM for doing a superb job of cleaning the inside of the car whilst I was working on the outside. The inside was treated with Autoglym products and glass cleaned with Turtlewax Glass Cleaner. The inside really did look immaculate! Also big thank you for Deano giving me the opportunity to clean his car and get it back up to scratch.

Jonjay= I am pretty pleased with it. I do think with more time I would have got better results.

Sounds like a challenge for the summer me thinks, haha.
