VAG COM Help..... UPDATED WITH LOGS

hello all.

i have a 1.4 mk3 ibiza cool/s and have an engine light up. first things first is i have got hold of VAG com from a mate inc a cable so should be able to find the fault.. but me never using this program before, i have no idea what to do.

also is it possible to program in:
1 touch widows
welcome lights (headlights turn on when you unlock the car)

also i have a problem with my AC and will this also show up a fault or not ?

sorry about my dumb questions, i did search but it came up with nothing.

any help if great thanks

1 touch windows are based on the switch

welcome lights- no idea, but very much doubt it.

you can check the AC module within vag-com for faults

As rhys said, 1 touch windows are just down to the switch so all you gota do adam is get cupra switchs mate

ahh ok will try and get them then!

also guys. i am now sitting in the car with the lapton on my legs... and i cant ruddy connect to the car. keeps saying that the port statusis ok but the interface is not found..... grrrrrr any one shed any light???

Well you can ignore the "Shareware" based codes as that is down to the cable and software.

The16804 code relating to lambda/oxygen sensor, I think this could be causing the problem with the knock controller too. Its probably causing the A/F mixture to run lean giving you lots of excess knock (pre-detination). Drive carefully mate.... Knock is really bad for the engine.

I would think about changing the o2 sensor/s.... If you can't log the outputs to see which one is duff, then perhaps change them both... pre and post CAT.

Hope this helps.... That would be my first thought anyway!!

The speaker and temp sensor ones are due to wiring issues I think... Perhaps a new temp sensor is on the cards if you can't find any probs

You need a full copy of vagcom as its only the trail version your using.

But looks like pre cat lambda and engine knock sensor from what i can see

so what do i need to replace then (apart from the pre cat lambda sensor). i cleared the codes and my engine light it back on so something isnt right with the engine, would changing the cam belt help at all as its nearing its the milage where it needs to be changed.

Change the pre cat Lambda sensor first. Clear the codes and see if they come back....

Changing the Cam belt won't help. However, if its nearly up for renewal, you need to do it. Its nothing to do with these codes though.

sorry for my stupidity, but how much is a pre cat sensor ?? dont have a huge amount of cash at the moment.

i know this is a bit stingey, but would it be worth looking around for a crashed 1.4 mk3 (same as mine) and taking the sensor off that? i dont really have £100 to spend on a little sensor!

It wouldn't really be worth it bit as they are screwed into the exhaust, they tend to get really corroded and are a bitch to get out.

Also, if you had a new one, at least you know it either has solved the problem or not for defintate.......
