Yeah that's what I used to do until I moved out and into a garage with no electricity :( That's the best idea.

Yeah that's with the alarm and immob set. It's annoying if I go to move the car just a few feet and the secondary water pump kicks in

Well after neglecting the car for a few weeks due to the maifold to turbo gasket leaking (AGAIN) I decided to get cracking again with something easy. So I decided to fit my OMP steering wheel I've been having sitting round for ages. I also miss the race car feeling of the 205 :(

So going round the back of the steering wheel I noticed it wasn't as easy as the 1.6 was to take it off (3 torx). Sitting around poking with a screwdriver for half an hour was fun! Finally the airbag popped off!

And this is what I ended up with :)

And I noticed I didn't have a picture of the whole car with the new wheels on:

Now all I have to do is get this bloody gasket sealed because I have the boost spiking sorted with the aid of a boost controller. It is currently set at ~15psi until I get in touch with Dave Manson, after I have the gasket sealed, to see about another logging session to check that the map is definitely ok.

Sorry about my English.

Looking good mate, any more pics of those front seats? What are they :)

They are Cobra Daytonas Rob. And they are for sale ;) http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=277580

Great seats but I'm going for something a bit more full on [B)]

£50 from ebay :) £30 for the boss from rally design. Not an actual OMP steering wheel but it's good quality and light :) You can get the steering wheel for £50 from rally design as well but I fancied something different.

Good your back on the case again, get it sorted out for monday and come play :)

Aye! Manifold is off and I have had a look at the surfaces. They seem true to me so I think it could be the thread that I've tapped has caused a lip on the surface causing it not to seal. I'm going to order another new gasket and a manifold gasket as well while I'm there from David.

Cheers bud :) They are 16" x 7" Team Dynamics with 195/50/16 Toyo R888s. I am going to be going for a wider tyre though as they are too thin at the moment.

Good to see youve stuck with it,

i too have everything fitted just waiting on dave to map the thing, having no boost is no fun! did you have any chance to give it beans?

No update here for a while due to me A) being back at uni B) still not having a licence and C) having a new job at scotkart down here in Glasgow!

So yeah nothing has happened on the car but I have bought a few things with my earnings.

First thing being, well we will see who knows what it is!

And then instead of just the single Corbeau Sprint I had bought for it I came across these:

One skinny one for myself and one lard arse one for all the various shaped and sized persons who will be experiencing the beast (when it's going...). The Corbeau will be kept as a spare or I may make it into a wee office/gaming chair.

***Oh and if anyone wants cheap karting down in Glasgow with the best race director you will ever get let me know ;) I can get you some money off.

Nice.
Not to sure what the gauge is but suspect a liquid gauge.
Karting sounds like a plan

Pretty mad looking gauge Willie! :cartman:
Aye ham on down anytime you fancy it.

Quick release steering boss

Want to get one of those too :)

Bingo! Didn't really need it but it looked cool, I haven't bought anything in ages and I just got paid... So here we have it!

Looking good, Josh.

I had a quick release steering wheel boss for mine but the quality was awful so I sent it back. Where did you get yours from?

Well the ball has officially started rolling again!!

Today I removed the manifold (again) and helicoiled the thread in the turbo that was goosed! This went well for my first helicoil (I was quite sceptical considering it is an expensive learning curve if it went wrong!) and it now holds the manifold much better!

Then hit another bump as I couldn't get the car started to test if it now is leak free or not! I reckon with a clear on vag com she will go (this happened before).

Apart from that the seats will be fitted tomorrow after I have a play with the seat mounts which I'm trying to fit side mounted seats to the base mounts I have at the moment by joining the 2 types of mounts together. So after that I will hopefully get Dave out with vag com to see if we can get it running and if so take her out to see if the map is running with my motor correctly with the MBC installed :)

Pictures and videos maybe to follow!
