  1. Upgrading side light bulbs seat toledo stylance

Hi! Try some bulbs with CAN bus, or you can make it work with the cheapy chineese too. For the cheap one you have to solder a resistor paralel with the bulb.

Changing the Rear Indicators to LED

...of someone fitting internal lights to LED and it flashed. Xcellence always had LED internal lights whilst the lower spec Atecas didn't. The dark art of these can bus resistors isn't one I have had experience of. Others do but not on the Ateca unless it's the inside lights of non LED cars

Changing the Rear Indicators to LED

With the Ateca the front are LED already so the fabled resistor is already in the circuit which is why you can replace the rear with LED, suspect that's why. https://www.auto-lighting.co.uk/eng_m_Car-Bulbs_CanBus-Load-Resistors-1859.html Called Can Bus resisters. This might be of use...

Changing the Rear Indicators to LED

My Leon also has front LED indicators as standard. the bulbs I purchased said CANbus compliant but it looks like they arent. Im looking for help in getting them to work correctly.

    IBIZA 2013 FR LED Light

The lights look awesome BTW. Most likely the car is seeing the fault and shutting the lights off to prevent further damage to something. For example, you could of had a short and the car would shut the lights off to prevent this from worsening. Have you wired the LED strip in parallel with the...

    Need help with sidelights

If you have a load resistor I don't see why normal LED's won't work. As Can bus LED's have the load resistor installed. You have a load resistor on every LED right?? All 4?? As Jakepearce97 said, you can get "white" bulbs instead, not as bright but same effect.

LED Number Plate Lights That Work!

A recent bump of this thread has reminded me to add a conclusion to post #6 in this thread regarding the VCDS configuration settings for the license plate bulbs for cars with a PQ35 BCM. Back in May this year I did some extensive testing on these settings with both standard incandescent bulbs...

    Canbus resistors

    Your original H3 incandescent fog light bulbs would have been 12V 55W ones which have a resistance of 2.6 ohms and a current draw of 4.6 amps... R = V² / P, so (12 x 12) / 55 = 2.62 ohms I = P / V, so 55 / 12 = 4.58 amps The resistors you have fitted are 6 ohm ones and will be drawing...

    Need help with sidelights

Yeah if you have the resistor it shouldnt make a difference I agree with propane94 he knows what he's talking about! And yes the white bulbs aren't quite as bright but not really a huge difference so if you continue having a problem I would recommend getting the osrams night breakers if you want...

PY21W Switch backs - will these work?

They are designed to integrate with the factory setup, the led will mount where the original indicator bulb goes. They are can bus hence the big resistor wire across, mount this to metal to help dissipate the heat. The connector mimics that of the original bulb, so it will connect straight to...

GUIDE: How to install rear license plate camera into MK5/6J (Image links dead)

...do this on mine, little different as i have an ST. I do have a couple of questions. 1. Did you need to connect the plate light to a can bus resistor, or does it work fine without one, no errors etc?? 2. How did you connect the camera to the reverse light, was there enough power and does that...
  14. LED reverse lights dimming when steering

I'd guess that that bulb is now faulty as all these LEDs need to have a series voltage dropper and I'd guess CAN-BUS compliant ones will need a parallel resistor to make the current flow the same as a filament bulb. The battery on that car might have weakened and that would also account for the...

    Mk5 Ibiza Bulb List

Some lights don't need can bus leds, the ecu does not check them. I have reverse leds and they are fine, no errors, but i know thew brake light will throw an error.
  16. LED interior bulbs

most cars have low current going thru circuits even when the car is off, this is done to monitor circuits. on regular incandescent bulbs you don't notice it ( current too small), but on leds you do, that is why you see them glow on when car is off. The original seat bulbs take account of this...

    LED sidelights error

Did you get error free Can Bus LEDs? Those have built in resistors but even on the later facelift cars which have particularly sensitive bulb warning detection circuitry, they can still cause a fault to be flagged up. It does involve some element of trial and error to find LEDs that work...

    Rear number plate light housing

No problems what's so ever! They are complete units, you get a plug, plug it in.. Leads to a resistor then that leads to the whole unit, tuck it in, pop the whole bit in, and job done! I'll try find some on eBay now. -staytuning|staymodified

    Rear number plate light housing

Interesting. Were they the complete housings with incorporated LEDs, or just LED festoon bulbs put into the original housings? Looks like you have a facelift car. Are you getting any bulb warning errors on the dash? The facelift cars are notorious for this even with error-free CAN BUS LEDs so...
