Model Year 20/21 Formentor ACC help

Hi everyone new to this forum and read alot the past couple of days and the support and network seems amazing.

Just thought I'd ask a couple of probably noddy questions, I picked the car up yesterday it's a 2021 V1 1.5tsi.

Is there anyway to stop the overtake on the right prevention? When driving home last night I noticed when I was overtaking cars it kept slowing me down and I think from reading the car is assuming I'm undertaking but in the UK we drive on the left so overtake on the right.

Also the software was 1788 I think and from reading is very old, is there a way to manually install a new version or is it a trip to a Seat/Cupra dealer?

Thanks

Ja, du kannst im Steuergerät 13 codieren, je nach Firmware.... ja, manuell das Update auf 1969 hochziehen. aber von 17xx erst auf 18xx dann 1969

I don't think that in UK have right prevention but LEFT prevention , no way that they have make so big mistake.... In Rest of the world yes you can code to disable the right prevention .
If you have a cupra connect subscrition you will get the latest OTA update (1940) , the latest is 1969 but is only under TPI ( if the customer is not satisfied with the 1940)

The last firmware(expected), 1985, which VW and Skoda already have, is only available via OTA, at least in Austria. The firmware is not available to dealers on the server, at least not here.

It was strange when overtaking cars on the dual carriage way with ACC on it would show the car in the left hand side and the car would break and not over take, I had to press the accelerator and then it would override it and resume getting me back to 70mph.

How do you sign up to cupra connect? I downloaded the app but the car won't let me set up as a primary user 🤦🏻‍♂️

Thanks

Yes in the UK it should do it the other way around and only stop you undertaking with the ACC on. A quick tap on the accelerator overrides it, so sounds like a software update configuration required.

Assume your steering wheel is on the right

So if i sign up to Cupra Connrct for like £59 it will give me access to OTA update to 1940 from 1788?

I might give a local Cupra or VW/Seat soecialist a call tomorrow and ask them how to get it done.

The overtaking thing I am hoping is a bug that is fixed by an update as a few people have said it should be.

Otherwise its OBD11 and the right side prevention disabled

Wenn ich mich also für etwa 59 £ bei Cupra Connect anmelde, bekomme ich dann Zugriff auf ein OTA-Update von 1788 auf 1940?

There is no guarantee that you will receive updates with an active account.

Think a call to an independent dealer will be the best option tomorrow.

So frustrating it's not a simple OTA update especially as for some reason mine is on very old 1788 software 🤦🏻‍♂️

@East Yorkshire Retrofits i saw you commented on a software thread a while back, do you have any info how I would get my software updates from 1788 to the latest version?

I'll reluctantly pay the subscription to my cupra if it will allow me to update my software but if there is another way I'd love to know mate

It's likely you've got lots of updates outstanding, it's probably worth you visiting a dealer/specialist

I spoke with a dealer today (unfortunately I got my car through another manufacturer not seat so no direct warranty) they said it should OTA now I have Cupra Connect subscription, however still no update available.

Is it possible to manually update it with a file and USB C?

I dont fancy risking paying Seat £130+VAT to run a diagnostic then more on top for if there's an update 🤦🏻‍♂️

Have you checked for update on the infotainment screen under settings/software I think?
