It appears, that is wrong.Definitely not a detuned GTI engine and it uses a continental raax turbo rather than an IS20
It appears, that is wrong.
The link below confirms SuperV8's technical information about the compression ratio being 11.6, but engine code DKZA does run a IHI IS20.
However you are correct in suggesting it is not simply a "detuned GTi", a lot of similarities but not totally, just as the GTI and the R/Cupra/S3 Engine runs a different cam which allows for exhaust scavenging (I forget for which I think it is the IS38 Engines that use it).
Even engine code CZPB uses IHI IS20, which is the other 2.0TSI with 190ps and the AVS system.

HahaDidnt even know Continental made turbos haha![]()
I stand corrected sorry! No, DKZA turbo part number in the Leon is 06K145654M which is a Continental not an IHI made turbo. See image below of this OEM part:
Haven't checked other models with this engine - or the CZPB.
Not that it matters who made the turbo! but just to confirm again - it is not a turbo from the GTI.

Please don't take this as an "I told you so" it is purely for information. I bought a 2019 Seat Leon Xcellence Lux ST over last weekend, as the S3 was getting to be too expensive in the sense that I could afford it providing I was okay with not having much money to do much else.Haha

No, only love herePlease don't take this as an "I told you so" it is purely for information. I bought a 2019 Seat Leon Xcellence Lux ST over last weekend, as the S3 was getting to be too expensive in the sense that I could afford it providing I was okay with not having much money to do much else.
So I had a look under the bonnet for my routine weekly self inspections such as coolant and oil level. I did remember this conversation and I figured whilst I was there I'd do some real world investigation rather than spewing specs from websites. For the sake of information being available on this thread, I DO have a IS20 with my 2.0TSI 190ps DKZA Engine, which probably confuses the already confusing VW line up even more!

Checking the parts catalogue again and I can see a year break change - for 2019
DKZA >2019 06K 145 654 L £ 1,116.00 06K 145 654 Q £ 1,751.00 2019> 06K 145 654 M £ 1,209.00 06K 145 654 Q £ 1,751.00
The M and Q are both Conti - but checking 06K145654L it is marked IS20! So seems early DKZA had IS20 and later they superseded to Conti.

But I can also see IS16? Image is the same turbo.

Sorry can't share catalogue - it's not a free catalogue.I'm glad you took it that way! Definitely wouldn't want to have upset you in any way!
Well the plot thickens and the VAG catalogue of vehicles and parts only gets more confusing!
Would you mind at all if at all possible sharing the parts catalogue? It may come in handy in the future!
I'm not very knowledgeable about the continental turbos if I am honest, do you know if there is a difference between the two and which one on paper is better? I do like the sound of having a IS20 coming from a IS38 because it is more of what I am familiar with, and I can be a creature of habit in that regard!
