MMI facelift update

Hi,
I own a Seat Leon mk3 (5f1) FR from 11/2015.

I have the pre-facelift MMI with CarPlay and navigation.

I would like to update the firmware to the latest possible version (which is MST2_EU_SE_ZR_p0516T).

The thing is that my actual MMI version is MST2_EU_SE_ZR_p0245T.
My hardware version is 5QA035846.

Is there any procedure that I can follow in order to achieve this update to the facelift MMI version (p05xx) from my pre-facelift MMI version (p02xx) ?

I know the standard procedure to update the firmware to a newer version (still in the p02xx versions), but I can’t find any info about updating to a p05xx version).

Thank you for your help,
Tim.

why update? are you having problems? the update process from firmware 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 and 4 to 5 is not officially possible. the device must be manipulated for this. I recommend buying a device with the HW version 40 update to SW480 and then an update of the hmi version of the 516T

Thank you for your quick answer.

The reason I want to update to a facelift version is actually quite simple : I just want the new design, with grid menu etc.

I don’t have any problems but since I don’t have the 8inch display and I don’t want to spend money on buying one, I would like at least to update to a facelift software version.

Yes you can update to 03,04 or 05, take your pick. You cannot update without using modified updates

03 will give the best compatibility for your 6.5” display as it offers both the sport and normal skins. Every train except 02xx has the tile menu

And what would be the procedure to achieve this ?

For a cosmetic update it may not be worth spending quite a lot to achieve it.. depends upon retrofit's quote (their website says £95) for the modded firmware update comes to I suppose.

The alternative is DIY and risk of bricking it and/or losing some functions/features/options you already have.. for an idea of issues I updated from mib1 to mib2 so I had to buy a new screen and glovebox unit. BUT I also had to buy OBD11app to enable or regain features that went missing and Car scanner app to reinstall SeatSound parameters..
