So as the weather has got colder I've noticed a what sounds like a slight CV click when turning hard right from a stand still at a T junction.

There is no feedback of it into the car on the steering wheel just the noise.

it seems to be more present when the car is cold (just started and driven off my drive) and in colder (sub 5 deg c) weather and it only appears to happen when turning right.

I believe the Formentor I have has some kind of Limited slip diff in the front being the sporty one.

I have found other threads on this forum mention a similar noise on other Cupra vehicles and on other car forums with cars fitted with LSD's some saying its just a "feature" of the LSD especially when cold.

Its due a long run soon so once its got 20 -30 miles done and its all warmed up I'll try and find a suitable junction to re create the issue and see if its present once everything is up to operating temperature..

Its going into Cupra in a month or two for its 40K mile service so if the issue persists I may ask them to take a look however they aren't the greatest at diagnosing issues and as my warranty runs out in may I need to find a decent local independent (I own the car outright).

If it is the CV joint failing has anyone had one replaced (I wont get warranty) how did it go ?

Hey MC, I've not heard a peep from our 21 plate (now outside warranty)VZ3 310 LSD.

Not sure if it's relevant but Have you had your Haldex serviced? Had mine done at an Indie - saved a fortune. 😎

Another thought, 🤔

You could just drive out for 10 to 15 miles n then turn around n come back to 'home' and compare the warm diff on THE Junction where it clicks when cold.
😁👍

Its getting the haldrex done then, I may do the 15 min run thing this evening, the car is only getting sub 10 mile runs at the moment.

Ok update time, did the 15 min run and tried to re create the noise on the specific junction that it occurs on and no noise.

Checked the temp this morning and its 8 deg C ambient where I am, car has been sat for 10 + hours then started + driven about 40 meters.

No noise on specific junction, its POSSIBLE that the noise is something to do with the LSD being below a certain temperature as it only seems to be on sub 1 deg C days when the car is cold or has been sat for 2-3 hours.
