Yes a big PITA to fit, if you check the youtube videos they all tell you what a pain it is and FUNK video show you fitting with the turbo off the car.

I have my first trackday booked for FEB so will check the various temps to see what difference it will make.

Well when you fit Mods you are always hoping for the best but I do like to check to see if it does what it says on the box (if possible).

Have to say OBD11 Live Data/Charts makes this an easy task to do whilst I am out on the track with my phone safely stored away

Finally got the Turbo Blanket fitted, next to get the downpipe wrapped.

View attachment 46230 View attachment 46231

Also had a new Lambda Sensor fitted as engine checklight using OBD11 gave me DTC P003600 02 Sensor Heater Contr. Circ (Bank1 (1) Sensor 2)

Finally I used the OBD11 Free Christmas Lights app which I guess would be fun at a car meet at Night but in essance just turns on various lights/indicators at different times, you have to run this app each time you want the light show but as its free currently thats not an issue.
Wouldn't you want to opt for a ceramic coating for the downpipe rather than a wrap?

Yes I would but for now that is just to much work (as I would want the exhaust sent off to profetional teams) and expense so go with the cheaper option.

However its on my wish list that maybe (if the car is still going) to get many parts coated.

Added a RGM RBP192 rear bumper protector. Previous owner left a big scrape sliding a bike out of the boot, was thinking of buffing it out but was very deep. So covered it up instead and even though the bumper protector was pricy (£75 from amazon uk) it’s a perfect fit and very tough. I feel it looks OEM too.

Also protects the bumper from myself with loading the baby’s buggy in the boot! (Please excuse the very dirty car! Will get a clean soon I promise haha) View attachment 46195
Nice motor  , not that I'm biased......Have you thought of debadging, IMO looks so much nicer without that horrible oversized LEON badging! (Couldn't resist posting a pic of a clean one lol)

Agreed to the nice motor and also with the debadging one of the first things I did to mine back in the day.

Got her cleaned during my lunch break at work, I suppose the shame got to me. Looking so good now though.

I actually have plans to dechrome the back badges, have a few pre-cut vinyls from ezmods. Thinking of leaving the front badge and just dechroming the grill surround, I just think the front looks a little odd fully dechromed.

Also a pic of the RGM bumper protector with the boot open, it doesn't interfere with the boot closing at all.

Happened in the summer but forgot to post it!
Fitted a couple of goodies from RTMG: a ball bearing turbo (rated 600hp), blow off valve, PCV cover breather adapter with a catch can.
Had a new RTMG ECU and TCU remap for 500hp and 600Nm keeping it relatively safe for now until mid-spring when I'll have forged pistons and rods fitted.
Then I can safely have the ECU mapped to 550hp which is pretty much the limit of the stock injectors (it's a 2020 model without port injection).

Unfortunately, on the 23rd my engine passed away quietly in traffic on the way to BK... Today she was dropped off at Seat Cardiff for Warranty investigation.

A little update on my car....

They have worked out what's caused the complete engine failure, which is within the warranty coverage, and have sent all the evidence to Seat Warranty and they have requested an independent assessor to visit the car and verify the dealerships findings before they agree that it is covered under warranty. What is working in my favour is they have within a matter of weeks, had a 2022 car with the same core engine and this car has the exact same failure.

There was an initial problem with my service history being recorded on the wrong type of servicing schedule (fixed instead of flexible) and there was a huge glaring mileage discrepancy on the main dealer system where my car dropped from 26,200 on June 2021 to 19,400 on July 2022... Apparently this wasn't picked up during the checks they supposedly did prior to me buying the car, so much for buying an assured used car LOL. Their explanation for both errors are typo, which can happen, but both should have been picked up by the selling dealership during the pre-sale checks as per their website. Apparently both issues have now been corrected but I will wait to see this in writing.

In the mean time, I am still without a courtesy car (it's been over 2 weeks since the drop off to the dealership and was assured a courtesy car would be delivered to me last Thursday) and after a lengthy phonecall with the tech dealing with my car, the last time they ordered an EA888 it took 3 weeks to arrive so couple that with the additional wait for an independent assessor, I can't imagine I'll be seeing my car before the 2nd half of Feb at the earliest.

An annoyance is if I had got Seat to collect the car, they would have dropped off a courtesy car when picking mine up but since that isn't stipulated in the warranty info I was sent and I wasn't told that when I spoke to the warranty dept, I paid to have the car recovered myself and that has been a factor in the delay.

The icing on the cake is the Used Car Warranty I have with Seat is capped at £1,000 per claim (up to the value of the car so 15 claims I guess) so they are also trying to work out who is paying for the rest of the £9,000+ bill between Seat HQ giving good will or Seat Bristol as the selling dealership.

I'm not in a happy place right now lol.

@ViperSlider

I had a mileage discrepancy on the service history. Seat approved car bought in Sept. Dealer corrected it, but still, makes you wonder.

Re the claim cap. There's no way you should be out of pocket. Seat should cough up for all of it.

@ViperSlider i take it there has been a massive gap in an oil changes because of the service discrepancy? At least it was a car you bought from the main dealer rather than private etc then. They should be sorting you out a courtesy car asap shouldn’t they.
im sure they keep that £1000 claim limit quiet, i had an email to say my 2 year warranty is up shortly, and the quote to extend for a year was over £500, I might aswell not bother if a claim limit was 1k anyway

In all fairness, the servicing is above the standards needed (the contact at the dealership where it's being "fixed" said its a well serviced car) but because it's been recorded as fixed servicing instead of flexible then it's "not been serviced according to the vehicle service schedule", which is an annoying issue to have and would have caused carnage when the time came to part ways with the car!

Yeah the £1,000 claim limit is per claim, up to the sale value of the car so I could have 15 individual £1,000 claims and they wouldn't batter an eyelid but because a complete engine isn't quite £1,000 then they are covering all their bases before getting to the stage of "who is paying for it" lol

That's a ridiculous claim limit especially if it's 'All Components' cover!

Right?! That wouldn't even cover a headlight!

I have since found internal documentation showing that an assessor is needed for claims over £3,500 so with the value of mine (£9,000+) it's all part of the process.

I have been told that the assessor is visiting today so will follow up with the outcome when I find out.

Barring any unexpected issues, the assessor will see what the techs have found, agree that it's covered and then a battle between Seat, Seat (VWFS) Warranty and the selling Seat dealership over who is paying will commence.

If they DO find something to class it as not covered then I am royally up sht creek as the diag cost is £960+ alone, let alone the costs involved with sourcing an appropriate replacement engine etc.

Rotated the tires recently, putting my Goodyear Asymmetric 6s on the rear and the crap jinyus on the front. Immediately noticed a weird mid speed humming and could feel it through the pedals too. In fairness the jinyus were 5 years old and inside edge of tread only ~2mm left. Got them replaced and tracking done, noise is now gone.
Feels very nice having asymmetric 6s all round now too, tons of grip to be had.
