I'm also a fan of OEM, but why buy something when you can adapt something you already have? But opinions differ here, and that's a good thing

Finaly i am upgrading my MIB2 6,5 inch screen to 8 inch screen. It was hard to find a damage free screen with the correct frame and also for a decent price. Finaly i found one a few years back the prices where a bit lower. Also bought a toolset for the old screen.
I'm a bit confused, the correct frame for an 8" screen will not fit a pre-facelift car! Is your car a facelift with a 6.5" screen?

Booked my car in for diagnostics…Had issue with car feeling jerky in 2nd and third gear around 1500rpm ish.

Have been dragging my feet doing it due to
location of seat dealer being annoyingly inconvenient. Wish I could just take it to an VW as theres one a 10 minute drive away
However extended warranty ends this year so better make the most of it.

Still fed up with cars fuel economy on this 1.5 TSI
Best getting even on a longer run 32mpg ish.
Just don’t get it at all.

If there’s no fault codes where would you look?

Throttle Body - Worth checking of that and cleaning it?
Although can’t seem to find a straight forward guide on accessing it, workshop manual seems a bit confusing.

Injectors?
Have tried multiple fuel system cleaners no joy.

I got quoted by a garage for a complete fuel system inspection and testing - nearly £500 including
Not sure if that’s good or pricey?

Something must not be running correctly just can’t figure out what.

Unfortunately, on the 23rd my engine passed away quietly in traffic on the way to BK... Today she was dropped off at Seat Cardiff for Warranty investigation.

Sorry to hear that, hope you did not have to wait to long before they came and picked you up.

Hopefully its an easy fix and covered by warranty.

It'll be interesting to see what they say... As it was recovered to the dealership then they are obligated to start investigating within 48hrs so will know more either tomorrow or Monday. It was recovered twice, once on the 23rd to a trusted garage and then again today from there to the dealership.

Engine is totally seized and swarf in the oil filter... No warning either, pulled the dash cam footage and it verified it just died under normal driving conditions.

oh that's not good then, fingers crossed you get a nice new engine for free. Have Seat given you a loan car in the mean time

Not yet, they said they didn't have any available but I assumed it's because they need to establish that the failure is covered by warranty before releasing a courtesy car as the warranty will cover that cost too.

Oh no that’s terrible news! Hoping they cover it, but given my own experiences with Seats “extended warranty” they’ll claim it’s been modified or try and declare it wear and tear - even if it’s ridiculous or completely unrelated.
Even a non OEM airbox and they’ll declare the whole thing not their fault

It's their used car warranty as opposed to the extended warranty so unsure if there are any differences.

Considering I've had the car 8 months and not even added 3k miles to it yet, it'll be interesting if they try to find a clause to decline it. it's not even due it's next service yet... Not that the last service was done by Seat anyway.

I gave my near 10yo lion a bit of well earned TLC over my extended year-end and paternity holidays.
Started with a deep clean, proceeded with a full clay bar decontamination, then a one step polish with a DA machine, and now I'm ready to apply some gold class carnauba wax to finish it all off. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

As everyone knows, it's been a bit chilly over here in the UK for the past week.
On Sunday morning, I had a nice visit from a pair of early morning jogging / dogging enthusiasts who had quite clearly underestimated the frozen landscape outside. I also suspect that they were VAG enthusiasts too as they seemed to appreciate the nearly decade old, caked in mud, estate on the drive!

Despite the big heavy jackets, gloves and face coverings, they obviously still felt a bit cold and were looking for somewhere to warm up a bit. Sadly their attempts to break through the front door locks failed and so I missed the opportunity to have a good old chat about the character of the 6 speed DSG unit and the tunability of the EA888 lump.

It seems that aging years, a multitude of wrinkles and general sagginess are no deterrent to good old enthusiasts out there who may be looking for love on your driveway.

Added a RGM RBP192 rear bumper protector. Previous owner left a big scrape sliding a bike out of the boot, was thinking of buffing it out but was very deep. So covered it up instead and even though the bumper protector was pricy (£75 from amazon uk) it’s a perfect fit and very tough. I feel it looks OEM too.

Also protects the bumper from myself with loading the baby’s buggy in the boot! (Please excuse the very dirty car! Will get a clean soon I promise haha)

Finally got the Turbo Blanket fitted, next to get the downpipe wrapped.

Also had a new Lambda Sensor fitted as engine checklight using OBD11 gave me DTC P003600 02 Sensor Heater Contr. Circ (Bank1 (1) Sensor 2)

Finally I used the OBD11 Free Christmas Lights app which I guess would be fun at a car meet at Night but in essance just turns on various lights/indicators at different times, you have to run this app each time you want the light show but as its free currently thats not an issue.
