If you google MQ250 - there are reports of them holding up ok to higher outputs, clutch normally being the weak link.
Drivetrains are really susceptible to how they are used - lots of launches will kill many transmissions.
Depends what your plans are? I'm sure it would be find a fine road car with a simple remap - if you want to make a track/drag tool then maybe a Cupra would be a better foundation.
I wanted to go a bit mental with it but still keep it as my daily, was thinking around 400-450nm but obviously ill have to look into wether anyone has gone that high and had any sort of longevity problems, but you might be right and a cupra might be the better option, tho I dont plan on launching it all the time as its gonna be a daily, Thank you for your help

I think I might have the most powerful one, it's currently making 580Nm but I run into clutch slip issues at that level (it's got a RTS twin friction clutch and SMF, supposedly rated to 440ft lb/600Nm). I run it with 520Nm daily and it's happier at that level but still has occasional slip. The gearbox itself is slow and feels a bit chocolaty. I imagine it's the weakest point and will likely fail first. Btw the car has 85k miles on it and has been at this power for 4k miles (never had a gearbox oil change which I will do after the new year in an attempt to not blow it up:LOL:).

Thats good to know, I had mine remapped about 2 months ago and its currently making around 380-390nm on it’s standard clutch, had 1 issue with slippage when i was mucking around and tried launching it but apart from that its been perfect, Gonna stick with its original clutch till it fails i reckon and then think about pushing more power with the RTS clutch, out of interest, what supporting mods are you running to push that power? Mines on 50k and ive always thought the gearbox is a bit clunky but apart from that all seems okay, for now 🤞🏼 😂

There's 2 ways of making power, either going with bigger port injectors (which you see a lot of Ecotune stage 3 Polo GTIs with) or bigger direct injectors. I went with DI route on the recommendation of Ben at Littco (DI is more efficient for both performance and fuel economy). Apart from the clutch and flywheel its got: Golf R injectors, Golf R HPFP with VIS Motorsport internals, Golf R vacuum pump (HPFP won't function without it), Milltek catless turbo-back exhaust, Ramair intake with do88 intake hose and turbo inlet pipe (I had an MTC hose/inlet pipe in one, but it didn't seal right on the turbo and managed to pop off once), Airtec intercooler, NGK R7438-9 plugs (stock coils, no need to upgrade them contrary to what companies who sell them say) and a Littco L430 turbo. I think that's all for power mods if I haven't forgotten anything. On E18 she made 491hp and 430ft lb on the day. Not bad for a 11 year old little 1.8  and I believe it's the highest power 1.8 TSI in the country, next one I know is Will's Polo GTI which makes 485hp on full E85 (there's a couple alltracks in NA running over 500 with full E85 on a Powermax stage 2 turbo).
