After putting so much heart, time, money and work into the MK2, it killed me to let it go.

But DSG was the way forward and we brought home a nice black 290 LUX. As the MK2 spent most of it's time in pieces being modified, I decided this time, it should stay complely stock.

I mean stock, but with fog surrounds, copper badges, copper mirrors, copper CUPRA logo and matching copper number plate border (obviously).

And of course, need some custom Chequered flag Cupra mats for the inside.

Sorry guys, need to make a stop on the way home.

Just a Stage 1 ECU, TCU and dogbone mount won't hurt.

And of course, I'd be driven nuts if I didn't have my bonnet strut kit from Russia.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but in my opinion I think the stock black looked better without the bronze accents n mirrors… 👀 I’d have tinted the rear lights, front fogs and painted the front n rear Seat badges black, along with the Cupra flags. But that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love to see a standard MK3 (or is it just slightly modified).

Just remember you started out like this on the MK2 and then look what happened

And yes you can spend even more money than you did on the MK2 on the MK3

Good to see some of the old boys back on the site, lets hope we can get a meet up again @Jimbobcook where are you.

I'm still here :) , just haha. The house has moved down to 1 car as I now work from home and we need space so I may have taken the next lease on instead of the wife as we got a SEAT Tarraco FR Sport 1.5 TSI as I don't I'll be bombing it round with the girls in the car haha. Meets have been on my radar since the girls were born but its always something in the way, hopefully we can sort something out even if it's a small one with the original cast, would love to redo a Castleton (pretty sure it was that) meet 🙃.

Good work on the MK3 @Legojon!

Haha, yeah, the MK2 was crazy at the end. On the bright side, I learnt a lot from it. Some upgrades were more than worth the money. Some cost a fortune and made little difference. An expensive experience.

Ah, I was trying to find what you were zooming around in now. Have you done a readers ride / review yet?

Had a play round with CarPro Perl. It's lasted ages on the tyres. Didn't go mad on the engine bay as some of the plastics are coming out soon.

Ah, that feeling of pressure washing a car, but you've put so much Fusso on the water just runs off.

Early xmas present arrived today... unfortunately Royal Mail have "misplaced" the turbo elbow, so fitting is going to have to wait.

I had this exact filter on my 280. Didn’t notice much difference to be honest. Put the stock filter back on. I do have a Ramair hose and elbow though, which I’ve kept on.
