Cupra Connect - Remote Lock / Unlock issue

Hi everyone,

I have recently had delivered my MK4 Leon and I’ve had the dealership authorise my vehicle for remote/unlock services

I’ve received an email from Cupra connect this afternoon saying it’s now accessible however the app still says it’s deactivated?

Has anyone had this issue and had it resolved? Is there something I am missing?

Thanks

It might take a couple of hours to activate. I restarted my phone and then it worked. When you lock / unlock using the phone there is a delay of at least 10 seconds, don't press it again while you wait. Once unlocked if the doors aren't opened it will re-lock just like if you used the remote fob.

Great feature !

I've had my car since November and can't be bothered to visit the dealer to get the feature authenticated - is it really worth it? I used the app more in winter to defrost the car but don't think I've used it since the last frost...might also have something to do with it being really slow to load but that might be my 7 year old phones fault!

Sometimes when out for the day we seperate and meet back up at the car. Phone call from wife - "Where are you?" I can unlock it for her. Also the ability to check you locked it and sort it out remotely if you forgot (only done it once)

I also use a Faraday pouch partly to protect the key, but also as an anti theft thing, and if you put the key down in the boot and close it with the car locked you have a problem that remote unlocking can sort in a moment, otherwise a big headache.

I’ve used the apps on previous vehicles to double check my car is locked, there doesn’t appear to be a menu which shows that the vehicles doors/boot etc are closed and I expected the app to let you know if the vehicle was left open for example.

Seems to be functionality missing that other brands have

I seem to have had some progress, the remote lock/unlock buttons are still greyed out and fail when pressed but I’ve seen my car displaying as unlocked when I’ve been sat in it (but not consistently)

It does appear that the app doesn’t refresh very quick when the status changes as you say.

Agreed, the remote unlock/lock certainly has its uses

Seems the new app is somehow less comprehensive than the old app. The Cupra connect app (still available on App Store shows) a menu like I mentioned above in the screenshots for the app but on download, it forces you to download “my Cupra” instead which seems to lack in functionality in comparison. Seems a strange move from Cupra.

Ah - I have Cupra connect. Didn't realise they had upgraded it with a downgrade :)

Guys. Is this fixed for you? I also got a leon secondhand 2 wks ago. App told me i still have to be verified.... went multiple times to dealer and had a call with cupra hq.
Nothing yet.... very sad.
Dealer told: everything is setup right. We dont know what to do..

In cupra connect options within the mycupra app the 'remotly lock/unlock" is still deactivated.

No options with obd11 to fix this?

The app has been updated multiple times since this thread started and now shows vehicle status (doors locked/lights off etc.

From memory it took 3 days or so for the authentication to actually materialise in the app and give me access to the lock/unlock.

May be worth checking that the app is up to date, turn your phone on and off etc (usual app related troubleshooting) and if that doesn’t solve your problem I would go back to the dealer because they’re the ones that control that feature being unlocked. If they did their part right you’d expect to have access.

Unsure whether an OBD tool would help for this issue
