vibration when letting off between 2500-3000rpm

I have been getting a vibration through the front end end and in the steering wheel if im at say 2k rpm and let off the throttle at 2800/3000rpm after giving it some. it only does it in this rpm range and it doesnt matter what gear im in, im confused to as what it could be. anyone had this before? its rpm related and only does it if i give it some within this rpm range, if i drive sensible it doesnt happen.

Curiosly, do you get vibration when idling?

I do sometimes, but it goes when I turn the AC off 🤷🏼‍♂️
i do get a little as i have a powerflex hybrid bush, the issue i have was there before too.

Manuel or DSG? DSG serviced recently if DSG? Any rough idle or jerkiness?

Dsg and was serviced by vw at 38k miles, issue was there before and I never realised it was an issue until recently where I’ve managed to replicate it numerous times.

I saw a thumbs up no smiley, I’m just in a foul mood, sick of the car, it’s got warranty and twice I have been fobbed off by main dealers, they’re useless.

Know how you feel. Last car was a MK1 Citreon C4. Just changing the air filter involved removing the wiper arms, scuttle panel and a couple of air intake pipes. Even after all that you still risked grazed knuckles getting it out from the back of the engine. As for the heater blower resistor. You needed arms thinner than a grass snake's waist. As for doing work for MOT. Between lack of access & seized nuts/bolts I was about to give up. The final straw came when I lost the keys. At £250 to replace them I decided time to throw in the towel and send her off to the crusher.

Could be inner cv joints where the driveshafts go into the gearbox. They often give that symptom of vibration only at certain RPM or under deceleration etc
Noticed the vibration since 37k when I bought it and it’s on 42k now, I wouldn’t expect something like that to be damaged so soon but you never know these days. Is it an expensive job

Can’t replicate it in neutral, I have been to the main dealers twice now for what I believe could be flywheel failing, when car comes to a stop, 2-1 I hear a chatter and I can replicate it by blipping throttle while reversing. Even though I showed the dealers a video of the issue they told me “we can’t replicate it” I wasn’t happy and they were due to call me back last week and as usual no call back.

The joints are under a lot of stress having to transmit not only the power, but deal with the movement of the driveshafts at the same time. It could be something else, but that would definitely be my best guess given the symptoms.
Shouldn't be too expensive if that is the problem. May be able to get away with just replacing one shaft, and it's usually only an hour or so labour to swap a driveshaft on most cars.

arronleeds, did you manage to fix the issue? I have the same problem on VW Golf GTD MY2019, with DSG transmission. On my car, they already replaced the right engine mount and did not help.
sorry for the late reply mate, still got this issue even after having a brand new gearbox fit under warranty! they told me my flywheel is fine but i think its the issue. i watched a YouTube video in German where a guy described the same issue and he said 6 to 7 out of 10 golf gti 7.5s he tested had the same issue, one guy even replaced the flywheel for the noise to go, to then only come back!!!. so if you ask me there is clearly something a miss with the flywheels fit to these cars and it needs revising.

i have also replaced both engine and gearbox mount and the dogbone itself and it didnt do anything.

You were right, it was indeed a bad flywheel. Unfortunately, many original service centers are incompetent and couldn't figure it out. The last service confirmed that it could be the issue, and when they removed the transmission, they found play in the flywheel. It's now been replaced, and the problem is gone. Your car probably have the same issue.

unfortunately i was lied to by vw, they told me my flywheel was fine, its very costly to replace and mine has been doing it now for 15k miles so i am going to leave it.
