Should be picking up a Nevada White VZ2 with a pano roof tomorrow, was registered by VAG 31st May 2023 and has covered 1463 miles since - I'm guess they force-registered cars, put a few miles on them and dumped the vehicles on the dealer network...that's never happened before. :D

Car history before this...lots of Audis including 3xRSQ3 (340/367/400PS), the last one of which got stolen, broke into the house to get the keys and took it from a locked garage. By the end of the week it was on Ebay in bits - the police raided the premises and only found part of the car. Replaced the RS with an A1 Citycarver 1.5 (same engine Seat/Cupra use) fearful of the insurance impact of a total loss - just as well as the A1 is £850 a year, however strangely perhaps the VZ2 is not a great deal more.

After more than 20 years of Audi cars I'm staggered by the level of standard kit, there are almost no options. Looking forward to this one after 6 months in the A1.

Did tons of research and found that Cupra Ateca didn't seem to feature heavily on the thieves target list which is an encouragement and the insurance rates seem to reflect this. I am going to get a Ghost2 fitted - had one in a 2018 B9 RS4 and to be honest it was a pain in the rear, sadly a necessary evil.

Picked up theVZ2 on Thursday in the end, vehicle handover is a very different experience than when one buys an Audi (and in the same dealer group too - Listers), whereas I would have expected as a minimum getting my mobile connected it was a handshake and goodbye!

I'm very impressed by the vehicle, in some ways its like sitting in the VAG parts bin - there are lots of recognisable items, electric window switches for example. There are oddities too, the mirror switch controls feel upside down and the audio volume control is on the left - and my brain expects it to be on the right.

Was expecting the standard audio system quality (no Beats) to be completely dreadful and it's actually OK, I can live with it. The configurability of the virtual cockpit displays is impressive - much more so than is possible in any Audi I've owned. Android Auto launches quickly and wirelessly too - curiously the dash detects Google maps is running and launches the navigation widget in the dash - without the route guidance working. Had a previous gen Karoq last year as a loaner and that provided the pictogram turn instructions in the dash when Android Auto is running - was neat.

Good to hear your feedback from Audi perspective. I am picking up Cupra ateca in March. I think there will be a few additions (Android and tail gate opening from my current 21 plate
