Hi Guys,
since I was a little disappointed with the trunk light in Leon ST. I have found an elegant solution (no cutting, no drilling and reversible in 10min to original state). At least for me :D
Maybe some of you can take inspiration from my solution.

It will work out for those of you who have the tailgate electrically controlled because I used the source from button for tailgate closing. I found out that the light of the button is on the same loop as the existing trunk light. 1 is positive and 4 is negative. (Please be aware in real connector they are in order 1-2-3-4)

Since I don't want to "touch"(in terms of cable cutting) existing wiring I decide to make a small elongation with a branch to add on light.

For elongation I used connectors from "Alli" because it was cheaper than local suppliers. Quality is OEM even with VW logos :D (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...o.order_list.order_list_main.4.57031802QEbUjE)

For the branch I used a small Molex connector which fit to the existing hole in the tailgate trim. But you can choose whatever.

Light itself is up to you, in my case it is a piece of 3mm aluminum sheet metal with led light strips and small strap to make it easy to remove from the car (just components which I found somewhere laying around). Light itself is attached by 3M velcros.

I am also planning to add some plexi to make it nicer.

Wow!!! Interesting. I added a second ceiling, and replaced the original led with one that has six LEDs instead of three that comes with the original.
