I prefer the look of the Leon over the A3 and Golf. It would depend a lot. For example in the UK i know the 205 GTI is highly valued. Here not many people appreciate French cars , so It's less valuable. Probably same would happen for the Leon.

It's just a shame that the NOx is a problem. Being able to retrofit a better exhaust system would solve so many problems, but the government would prefer I bought a car that puts out just as much CO2 (or more) or that I buy an EV...

I agree they are pushing us all but read this article these two comments sum it up for me

High interest rates and a subdued market are putting customers off, they warned, with Volkswagen's EV order intake half what it was last year.

"Many assume that the technology will improve and would rather wait three years for the next model than buy a vehicle now that will quickly lose value."

Used car trade had its worst month on record in October.
There is also a problem of traders overpaying for EV stock. They can't reduce the price to below what they paid and people aren't buying because a new EV isn't much more expensive.

Range Rover have their theft issue, so no-one will insure them, and they now have loads in stock now because of people cancelling orders, and then there's this - probably my favourite electric car...

Dead tech before it got off the ground, they cant get rid of them fast enough and the tyre usage they never mention as you go though them faster due to weight even the insurance is higher, there ok around town doing shopping ect with a home charger but after that there useless, ev didn't help all the push for caz/ulez laugh is there less climate friendly from start to end

Vw got rid of most of there Ev section other car makers are following suit, its car industry that pushed eu for the 2035 extension and even that's looking likely tobe extended, with them all making ev in last 5 years now its effecting second car sales garages as you cant get ice cars as much and that's put the price up

Now I am showing my grumpy old man feelings, Should they not pay more road tax as these new cars seem to be getting bigger and heavier so wear and tear on the tarmac is greater.....

As the saying goes - electric cars were to save the car industry - not the planet.

People are so addicted to their cars today that the never question whether they need a car or if they should use a car for that journey. We used to laugh at the Americans for driving 10ft to put the bins out, but now we're doing more or less the same.

Looking at the cars coming out now, they're there to be consumed. Nobody seems to care what they look like or how they perform - they just want one and that's it. I can't think of a modern car that's destined to become a classic. It's been years since I got excited about seeing a modern car.

I’ve attempted ev & detest them. I ran along side v8s & turbos as personal cars but just a case of showing willing as a business. They do not work as a main & only vehicle & a total waste of time as a commercial. I take delivery of another on Monday but it will be used for doing small drops into the city only. Any further than 30 miles & im powered by dinosaurs & sticking to it. Anyone that buys an ev thinking they are saving the planet is on crack & as above, replacement batteries are mental money. Everyone I know with a Tesla over 7 years old has had a new battery (under warranty to be fair to Tesla) but know a couple of people with Mercs, 1 failed at 4 years old & at the time only had a 3 year warranty. He was quoted 28k to replace so the car was for all intents and purposes a write off. Self charging hybrids however I have no issue with but Toyotas build quality has gone to pot over last few years (they actually bought one of mine back after admitting they couldn’t fix it)

Getting back on topic though, I would be amazed if it’s a future classic personally. I have a v6 tt 8n I’ve had for ages with full Audi or specialist service history which is absolutely immaculate (not good for age or an odd mark but out the box). People have been saying they will go up in value soon but I will be lucky to get £7k for it. It’s cost me more than that keeping it how it is & servicing etc due to chain stretch etc. Generally cars go bonkers in value if they were desirable when we were kids. E type jags went up & now back on the way down as that generation die off. Escort mk2 did the same, now coming down. 90s jap is current crazy bidding which also has a lot to do with the 25 year rule in America. For cars common stateside or that weren’t what loads of kids wanted then they simply won’t go crazy unless super rare or exotic. The only thing putting values of TT’s up are the mk1/2 golf brigade buying them for resto mods & suspect it will be the same with these
