I tried this one out and seems (luckily) it went through. Can't keep my hands off these.

Received an OTA update right after this one, so at least it doesn't block anything in that regards.

Anything now
In the 1940 log it has a date of 29/3/23 so it looks as it’s been done a while. It become available on Friday last week on the Seat system and vw version was a few weeks ago. Seat are not the premium brand in the vag group so will always be vw to get it first.
The updates should be synchronized between all brands. I'm pretty sure the hardware is exactly the same and even the software. It's just a different theme.

So I installed this on my car and went from 1896 to 1940. So far I don't see anything new except a faster startup. I'll have to try it a few more times to be sure.

In the day after tomorrow I'll be on a 500km trip and for sure I'll keep my eye on the infotainment. Also, I'll go through every single menu option/app/feature to see if anything is changed.

I attached a pic with all parts that were updated by this version.

We are on day 3 and so far no rebooting, not seen any other changes apart from faster start up times like you said. No other changes I can see. but all I want is it to work with no rebooting issues.

Pretty much the same. I hate the reboots and this is the only reason I did the update.
Same with me, I emailed the dealer over 2 weeks ago and come back to me yesterday saying no new software available still! Funny how it is 🤣 vw/seat will like it as saves them money us updating as don’t have to pay the dealers to do it.

I know what you mean. Last time I asked them to update my software (was something older than 1896) they said there is no new software available. They told me that right after I asked, didn't even look at the car or software version. I had to make a list of small issues with the software in order to make them do it.

If you log into a website called seat Erwin pay £7 you can see all the recalls/campaigns available for your car.

Can you get this update OTA? The random reboots are doing my head in. My SW version is A896 and I have CLIMA at the top of the display.

Mine is booked in to the dealers in a few weeks, list of faults are

Sos warning.
Popping/crackle from radio.
Intermittent fault with the heating screen where nothing works on it including the touch pad buttons below the screen.
Autohold is sticking on when I pull away if the car is on even the tiniest incline.

So we'll see what happens here, receptionist said it all sounds like software stuff. Currently on version 1760

Well mine went into the garage they said they updated it die to the faults listed, however software version is the same as when it went in.
Are there smaller software updates that don't change the version?

Yes, there are software updates for other units like telematics etc. You can't see version for them unless you have OBD...

There starts to be reports from users that 1940 software would available at dealers. Some still get 1896/8 but others get 1940.

I've just had 1940 installed after asking the dealer during its service - had the same issues as above with cracking, popping and rebooting. Apparently there is two seperate bulletins for the SOS issues and the infotainment issues.

Too early to tell if it has fixed the issues but I am definitely a fan of the larger resolution Apple CarPlay!
