When high beams are activated the projectors do not tilt up

Hi All,

I recently bought a 2022 Seat Leon FR Sport and I've noticed when I turn on my highbeams the projectors do not tilt up like seen in test reviews online. Is this correct as I've spoken to the dealer and they have told me the projectors are static when the high beams are on.
When driving the light does not reach far down the road which is why im wondering if there maybe some sort of issue with my highbeams.

Please see the comparison of both dipped and high beam positions.

Thank you.

I have the full LED headlight, with projector lenses and yes they do tilt up on high beam. Sounds like your dealer is doing the usual to fob you off.

Do the beams go all the way up and then settle on engine start?

Hello,
Yes they do tilt up and adjust whenever the engine is started.

Thank you for the confirmation, I think I'll put in a complaint to the dealer and ask them to look at them again.

Thank you

Take the same pictures on a road with trees down the side. You're not going to see much difference with high beams pointed into the darkness.

In the top photo you can see a clear cut off line.

In the bottom photo this opens up showing your full beams.

I would say the full beams are working correctly.

Looks like your dipped beams are really high so the issue may be opposite from what you think it is.

Just a thought

I think the bottom photo shows the extra high beam LED elements, that extinguish on dipped, which throw a tiny bit farther and only right in the middle. The cut off line doesn't appear to move at all between the two pictures?

Seem to be working as you would expect.

I still believe the dipped are aimed too high though and thats the issue

Seriously?

The fact that the high beam doesn't seem to give much more range than the low beam seems to back this theory up

That GIF confirms that the projectors are not moving at all for high beam, just the extra LED elements are coming on. Even if the dipped was aimed too high you should still see the projectors raise up.

On mine, I don't get those centre lights coming on, just the tilt. That I've noticed anyway... Need to investigate further now! I wonder have you a different type of lights

You can see how high beam tilts the LED projectors up at 27:10 into this video, also the extra LED elements going on and off, yours are definitely faulty.

Hi All,

Just an update that I have taken it back to the dealer and re-brought up the issue which they have now acknowledged there is fault with the Headlights not raising (tilting up) when high beams are activated, and will be investigating this next week.

I'll let everyone know the outcome once they have formally diagnosed the issue.

Thank you everyone for all of your advice.
