Software update A896

Started the car this morning and immediately noticed that the speakers were disabled. Or to be more precise, it sounded like an old mono radio with what sounded like a small speaker in the infotainment active only, really strange.

After a while the A896 download started but it stopped at around 700mb followed by a message ”Update failed” or similar. It was displayed while driving so no chance to take a photo. Version still shows 1804 and no available updates anymore.
I’m not too worried since 1804 works really well for me but I haven’t read about that specific behaviour.
Maybe the system will try to make another update later, not sure how that works?

Same happened to me. It was a 3gb file, and it failed. And it’s not showing again, is it possible to make it Update again?

This is why I used OBDeleven to sort it out.

Mine now has the option of ACC, Cruise or speed limiter
Has no issue overtaking with ACC or cruise
Lane assist remains at last setting ( always OFF )

Far nicer car to drive when it works normally.

Hi everyone!

On my diesel Formentor, updated few minutes ago the first part.
Around 28 minutes of update, at the restart of the car, inside leds AND clima were not working.
Left the car on for few minutes, no other updates appeared.
How much since the second part so i can have clima working again?

Is it correct (clima says "function not avaliable"

It restarted today and 1.3Gb downloaded during the drive. Not sure what happens next in terms of continued download and installation but if the car has to be running during download then it’ll take some time. No error message today though.

The system is a little crazy.
The engine must be running for it to download the package
BUT
The engine must be off and the car locked for it to Install the package.

It took mine about a week in total to download and install three packages that completed A896

Not that I noticed - but then all my driving was in daylight when it did the downloads.

After parking up and switching off the ignition - the screen came up asking to confirm installation and saying the car couldn't be used during installation.

Everything worked as before once the update was done.
Boot up from first starting the car is quicker.
The screen seems more responsive.

I ended up switching off the wake word because the system kept waking up during normal conversations.

I also switched the satnav voice back to female.

I've been trying to switch the voice back to female but can't see how to do it. I read it was an option at the bottom of the languages choice in the settings menu however mine is set to UK and is greyed out so I can't scroll down. Any ideas?

Your car hasn't completed all of the updates to A896 if the language is still greyed out.
I noticed the same after the second update.
When the car has completed all three installs - then you will get all the menu's back.

Well that's interesting . I had mine updated from 1803 to 1896 at the dealers! Maybe they locked it?

Mine did the same then I went back to it another day and it worked okay and let change the voice. Have you tried it with the engine running and without? I can't remember which one worked for me.

I deffo have all the menu's live again after the final update completed.

Mine is on 1896 after a dealership update from 1672. I can't see a female voice option either, under that menu, could someone post a pic of that menu option?

Ahh, sorted! Language choice not greyed out when running. I'd tried it with just the ignition on and it was greyed out, strange .

I received the A896 updates a few days ago. Since then I’m missing the option to turn off auto start/stop. Has anyone else this issue?
