nope, it was all inside the swirl pot. had no idea until i lifted the pump and watched it when priming.Didn't it stink of fuel?
It doesn't go between the actual ball and socket, it sits behind the socket wall therefore isn't subjected to any friction wear. How long will a piece of card last though?
A strip of thin flexible plastic (and a blob of grease) would be better wouldn't it?
The comments seem to sound like it'll last forever. I used some decent 400gram card stock from a printer's sample pack.It doesn't go between the actual ball and socket, it sits behind the socket wall therefore isn't subjected to any friction wear.

hope you not used the adhesive side of the card lolDid this and it made quite a surprising difference
Oil and filter. Mobil 1 full synthetic as always
I know it's not scientific, but I feel like my car is running so much better with the Quantum oil. I used Mobil 1 the last time and while it was obviously better than the stuff I'd left in there for years and not changed, it did seem a bit lumpier.
Thankfully we're all mature enough here not to descend into a week long argument about what the best oil for our cars is...

I aim to change mine every 3000 miles/ 6 months (whichever is sooner). Have used Mobil 1 0w-40 for the last 11 years. Original engine and turbo still doing well at 125k, despite having been remapped in 2012. I think as long as you go full synthetic then that it the main thing. Most brands probably pretty similar.I know it's not scientific, but I feel like my car is running so much better with the Quantum oil.
