Reading that has made my stomach sink... hope this isn't the case - waiting over a year is not an option...
Yeah wasn't great seeing it, might contact my salesperson, see if he's heard anything/current order times. I've already extended my lease to April, hope it can be extended further if needed

My sales team are atrocious; so I'm not even going to bother! If it wasn't for the fact I have my heart set on a Cupra I would have cancelled by now and gone Tesla/Polestar.

Thankfully my one seems alright, dealer is 200 miles north of me in Crewe, have brought before from them/him, have been tempted, but with prices for most things going up, I do like a Leon as well.

The reluctance from my dealer to attempt to get any update on my order is driving me nuts. The claim is that they cannot get any updates at all which I fail to believe - feels like they just don't want to try.

Oh that's not good, I've had good news then it got taken away, I had a build date given to me before Christmas, then it got removed and went back to status 00, he emails me 'updates' but just to say still at status 00.

I'm calling/emailing fairly regularly - but not holding out hope anymore. Tried SEAT Customer Services, SEAT and Cupra Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages, and was given a Cupra customer care email - theyre yet to reply...

Ordered Late August/early September, was due to be around Feb/March, still no build date set and UKCarLine are half-pushing a different car for April delivery, so I guess definitely not expecting the car until at the very earliest May - I may be cancelling my order so there could be one coming up for a shorter wait for someone... Had my heart set on the 300 but my company is now offering the Octopus EV Salary Sacrifice scheme so I'm considering a Polestar 2 or a Kia EV6 instead, or might just go for the 218i Gran Coupes they are peddling right now (Very different car, but if the price is right it may be an option!).

VZ3 300PS, XL Assistance Pack, Graphene Grey, Hatchback.

Emailed my sales person, he contacted seat support and they said they're unable to give a date (don't know if that's they don't know or won't) then he said won't be surprised if it was September for delivery - Seat Leon ST FR ordered in August.

Dealer for my lease company contacted me and said the Leon is currently the hardest to get a build date for - SEAT not even giving out provisional dates yet. He can see there are a lot of open orders on the system (mine is at “order accepted”), so maybe there’ll soon be enough to trigger whatever threshold is holding them back at the moment - but no knowledge of what that is, whether it’s a part that’s needed or just a certain volume of orders that makes it worthwhile scheduling them or something else.

Mentioned that it doesn’t seem to be any particular spec. that’s being held up, just all Leons - so my additional roof and safety pack probably not making a difference.

I don’t have any reason to doubt what he said, seemed to be as genuine as a dealer ever is. He did give me contact details and said he would try to answer questions.

Still waiting.

Hoping for some movement in the next few weeks - or else I'll be cancelling as I can't be without a car for 6+ months waiting for the factory to pull their finger out! 😂

It’s frustrating, but with the factory being dependent on supplies of semiconductors and a workforce that’s not adversely Impacted by Omicron (suppliers will also be impacted by Omicron), it‘s difficult for them to ‘pull their finger out’.

Pretty much all other car manufacturers will be in the same boat so if you do decide to cancel, sourcing another car could be a challenging and may involve a long wait.

Hopefully the factory will be in a position to start building cars at normal production levels soon.

Yeah I've thought about cancelling, but had a look (lease) there's nothing really out there stock or factory that is close to what got my Leon for, so I think I'll stick out the wait and who knows might get it sooner.

Oh yeah I totally get that - just frustration talking!

Polestar do a "pre-configured" page where vehicles are already in production/pipeline, and claim delivery within a few weeks; that may be an option in the event we get no movement - anyone else would be another long wait I agree.

I really like the Polestar 2 and it has a good theoretical driving range too (335 miles?) and build quality looks to be bordering on premium. However, during the colder, winter months I dare say the range could be quite a bit less but still OK, provided you’re not regularly driving long distances and need to rely on public charging facilities mid-journey to recharge the batteries. In my part of the country, public charging facilities are pretty sparse 🤔.
