Do the reset with VCDS then if you have it. There is some good videos on YouTube of what to do.
Re getting Seat to do itā¦.
Iād be very surprised if they did it āproperlyā as the workshop manual for DQ381 doesnāt state to change the filter.
Same as Haldex serving, Seat donāt clean the gauze as itās not in the manual.
Most VAG independents charge around ~Ā£300 for the DQ381 iirc inc the filter and adaptations reset.
(The DQ250 is usually around Ā£200, suspiciously like the Seat price. It uses cheaper oil and less of it, and is less messy due to not having an awkward to reach horizontal filter)
Same Independent places know
how to service the Haldex properly and only charge Ā£100 for that, whereas Seat dealers are more expensive and donāt clean the gauze, so basically Iād be amazed if Seat serviced a DQ381 fully for Ā£229, especially as you have found thatās nearly the cost of genuine parts alone.
In total I spent around Ā£230 doing mine, but next time it will time it will be cheaper as I donāt need tools anymore so should be much less.
Regards service history, when itās officially due, eg age/mileage, I will pay for a VAG specialist to do it that time who can update the service record.
Other times Iāll do it myself every 2 years like the Haldex.
