When did you order, when is it arriving?

Hey Guys, New member here. We ordered our VZ2 310 Black/Blue interior on 5th May with Cupra dealer in Newquay, Cornwall. We were originally told the car would be ready around August time, they keep us updated every six weeks with absolutely no news. Dont know anything at all, they have no updates, no build dates... Nothing. It's just a waiting game.

Wow! That just doesn’t seem fair. Not wishing to gloat but perhaps give you some ammunition when liaising with your dealer. I ordered exactly the same car and spec as you on 25th May. Mine is in the UK and I expect to take delivery within the next two weeks. Did your dealer order the car straight away or were they waiting until they were short on their targets for a particular month? It has been known!

Very similar experience to you, albeit mine was ordered in July. The updates I do receive, when they do send them, are "No update, no build date or week. No guarantee on timescale". I've been so fed up today I've emailed my dealer asking to discuss options regarding cancellation. Not necessarily the dealers fault (to the best of my knowledge) but frustrating none the less.

I hope you hear something about yours soon.

When I was waiting for my car and getting nowhere with Cupra customer service, I told them I had become so disillusioned I intended to cancel my order. They couldn’t have cared less.

I assume they will be the same with me to be honest. Hate to say it, but I'm at the point of not caring about cancelling either. Such a shame really, was genuinely excited to get the car.

I've decided to forget about chasing the dealers/finance guys, as they know diddly. So one day, when I get an email saying 'your motor is ready come and get it!', I'll be like an excited little boy...

This problem isn’t just particular to Cupra. All manufacturers are having the same problem. If you cancel your order will only go to the back of somebody else’s queue.

The whole car industry in the same position I know people who have ordered BMW, Audi’s etc and they are being told the delivery dates are being pushed out 3 to 4 months. The whole car industry is in disarray due to the chip supply issues. Cupra are no different, I was told last week that there build schedule is in disarray they are building what they can when they can. I’ve been told not to expect mine before March, I ordered in August, but the dealership said it may arrive next month they just don’t know

Yeah I understand that it's affected across the board. Still frustrating to have no updates. I'd be fine if they gave an indication of something or "You'll get it in March 2022" for example, however I get told nothing. That's the annoying part. Hopefully something will come of it sooner rather than later, but I'm not confident.

I think the March 2022 date from the dealership was just to give me a date somewhere in the future and to stop me calling and keep my expectations low.

I don’t think the dealership have a clue

You're probably right, and my frustration isn't aimed at the dealership either. Unfortunately, they are the only communication point at the minute. Fingers crossed we hear/get something soon.

New member guys, I have traded in my current vehicle Seat Leon Ecomotive 1.0 on 6/11/21 for a new Cupra 1.5 V2 150 TSI DSG in Magnetic Tech grey but told delivery will probably be June 2022 due to shortage of new vehicles. Hopefully it will arrive earlier. 🤞

The delay itself isn’t really the frustration, it’s the order they seem to be chucking them out. We ordered in April and just been told it “should” be on the next ship that’s due to leave on the 24th. Yet there’s plenty of examples of people ordering in may, June and even July that have there’s already or at least a delivery date!

Hi guys.
I am a Norwegian living in Germany so English forum is better then the German one, My car arrived yesterday, the VZ2 310PS and it looks so good. But of course when I sign the contract for my new car they drove the new VZ5 in to the store for display. That was also a beautiful car but the price was 67.000 euro so a great del more then the VZ2. One question, I need winter tiers, what size are you guys driving. Since I have Brembo I need 19" so thinking 245/45 19 winter tiers and 255/35 20 summer. I actually see that 255/35-19 winters tiers are cheaper then 245/45-19.
Most people in the Uk rarely use winter tyres, probably the worst people to ask for advice unfortunately.

Has anyone been following the United Spirit on the shipping tracker? It was due into Sheerness on Monday at 2pm and was on schedule, then it was held just off the coast of Margate and has been there since just after 2pm on Monday. There have been two other vehicle carriers that have passed it and docked at Sheerness while its been sitting bobbing about in the sea, one of which arrived yesterday lunch time and has since delivered its cargo and left to be replaced by a massive vehicle carrier that arrived at 5.15 this morning.

As far as I know my car is meant to be on the United Spirit and with my dealer on Monday (22nd). This doesn't look likely if it's still sitting waiting to dock, then to be offloaded and transported 400 odd miles.

The ship that my car came on was also anchored in a holding area at sea for a couple of days. They do this to avoid port fees while docked. There will be issues with the supply chain at one of the ports along its route. It’s a bit like being charged £100 for staying one minute over at a car park!

Thanks for letting me know. I'm not sure if it will be sailing from Sheerness to Tyne or if Sheerness is its only UK port.

Did it cause you any delay in getting your car after being held at sea for a couple of days?

Just frustrating seeing it sat there after following it from Barcelona and being on schedule all the way.

They usually do the same route, Sheerness, Grimsby then Port of Tyne. The ships carry different VAG cars. I only ever had one delivery date, this was 3-5 days after the ship had unloaded at Grimsby.
