I want to see if I can make the exhaust flaps stay open like I did on my Golf R. Only issue is, I'm not entirely sure if the bytes and bits map over the same. Used to be Engine, Byte 9, Bit 2

Get it wrong and it could be a world of pain.

Reckon they will be different since long codes are specific to model. That's where you want the long string passed with text and you toggle the 0-1 icon top right but that will only be passed with text if it's been published. That's where Obdeleven warn you that it's based on community feed back or something like that. Some mods they bring out as Adaptations which bypasses fiddling with the long string.

i saw your post on the obdeleven forum.

ive seen no feedback at all, did you manage to get any coding to try at all ?

I'm holding off for an EV .

Did you get the beta working BTW that does SFD ?. Might have a bearing on the aircon method. I guess if VAG closed off the door for SS mods before SFD there wont be much chance post SFD. I see people are talking about the hardware mod but you have to take the car apart round the switch and put a chip in. That's the mod that some use rather than coding.

That German PDF link referenced in here by the thread author. He's updating it marked up by needing SFD or not. Should be a treasure trove. Updated last month.

Put thru a translator unless it translates the German syntax names you will be fine . I'd put the English translate against the German just in case. Comes of driving a German engineered car .

I could not find any break thrus on fixing SS by software on the net. Think that door is closed at the minute.

I see the finished version of the public release is out today for the SFD cars ...
there are quite a few Apps on it for the formentor. still no stop start though...

I didn't think there would be. May be it will get cracked and published.

Wonder whether that means I'll get an update to OBDEleven or whether it's a separate stream of software. I'll have a look at the updates... thanks.

Edit. Update arrived. Mind still think one is better to use "coding" than the micropayment apps. See Formentor ones as you say have mushroomed.

I was going to play with some stuff today, however had a quick flick through the new T&C's you agree to for SFD and found this.

- the SFD service is only allowed to be used as part of the actions required for the repair (purpose limitation)

If you use the SFD service in violation to these terms of use or the Volkswagen Group's SFD terms of use, you may face the following consequences:

- unlawful use (e.g. tampering with control units, modifications to vehicles without the consent of the vehicle user / keeper) may immediately result in the user being blocked and the investigative authorities being brought in

Not particularly thrilling to read. Seems OBDeleven have made it seems like everything is good to go by releasing a load of "apps", but then hidden away is the agreement that you can only use SFD functionality for repair work, and all user details are submitted to VW when SFD changes are made...

They will be VAG terms of use on Obdeleven. It did seem a bit odd to lock it down, then agree to unlock it, but that agreement being for repair... probably some Latin is required at this stage . Caveat emptor.

Select Control unit A9 (Structure Borne Sound)
Select Adaptation
Select Volume of structure-borne noise actuator
Select % you want 0 to turn it off or reduced to lower sound.

I believe that's the code . Save yourself the credits.. I got 444 now I'm going to get the triple gauge model railway with my Green Shield stamps .

Problem with the apps is you dont really know what they do and if they fail you have to correct something that you had no control over. Like Excel Macros that go wrong. Better to program.

I believe it's this one from the Cupra Formentor PDF in German:

STG A9 Körperschallaktuator

Gespeicherter Wert ist 100% → Neuer Wert dann beliebig

Translates too:

Fake-Sound "(VCDS - no SFD) STG A9 Structure-borne sound actuator Adaptation 10 channel IDE04472 volume of the actuator for structure-borne sound The stored value is 100% → New value can be freely selected

Can you find that. Should be in the A9 module. May be under Adaptions or Basic Settings ?. May be text still in German. It happens.

Is they key if you find it.

Golf 7 one is German and translated English.

You might have some luck. If so screenshoot them in Obdeleven. If you can't find the A9 module then it's hardwired in not under software control.

ok anyone had this issue as yet.
i tried the obdeleven for the first time today on the car ,it asked me to validate my email address which i tried to do and it preceded to tell me it was the wrong email ?? so now totally stuck.
said something about 2 stage security as well but could not get past the first question..
why do they have to change these things i have used this for 5 years on 7 cars with no issues.....

No. Probably drops a cookie when set up so hasn't found the cookie. New device ?.

Probably a help screen somewhere on what to do.

ive got it working i had to manually type it rather than letting it auto fill....
changed a couple of things that worked but a couple i tried just said problem with SFD ,,,,,i thought that was the idea with this release,,,i tried with bonnet up and down and engine on and off.

Reckon default is bonnet up and engine on.

Problem With SFD' seen a few people on the obdeleven forum with the same message on a few different cars...i think they are aware by now so hopefully a fix should be on the way.
