That's the bizarre thing, the contrasting diagnosis on each visit. First time they told me they could definately hear the noise and that's what led to the nearside front bearing being changed. When I told them it had made no difference they asked me to try and record the noise and email them the audio file, which I did. Then on the second visit they took it out and were none the wiser. They said they could find nothing wrong from underneath either, should the noise be the result of something else.
Of course, they were quick enough to point out that the cars 5 year service (timing kit) was due and that they were happy to change it for ÂŁ850. Aye that old chestnut..
