It's not great at all! Must be a right pain!
Yip, luckily my mate has let me use his 22 year old Golf Cabrio summer toy, but I can't use it forever especially with winter approaching.

If anyone tells you that cars haven't moved on that much in 20 years, tell them to go and drive a 20 year old car!

Just found out that I now have an unconfirmed build slot in week 50 :( Initially, it was week 40, then week 38, and now week 50! Not looking too promising at the moment
Sales manager at the dealership said mine which is pretty much the same spec as yours could well be March next year before it gets delivered to them.

He didn't say why that was the case just that appears to be the lead time at the moment.

That would be 10 months from ordering if it turns out to the be the case.

That's better than me! Ordered 2nd June, I have a provisional build week of 23 next year! Almost a year after ordering it may be built!

He did say it may come down but bloody hell!
I'm pretty much the same as you. Ordered June, and was meant to originally get the car in October but that was changed and now provisionally week 24 next year:mad:

Sorry I pressed like by mistake! Reading your post has made me realise I didn’t do so bad with my delivery after moaning on. Ordered mid April and collect on 1st October.

A whole year after ordering!

It will be interesting to see what Leasing Options have to say!

it will be interesting if I could ever get hold through to the dealer. Can see a small trip at the weekend to find out what they have to say about it

I ordered in mid May and have no idea on when build or delivery might happen. As I do PCH, the big problem with cancelling is that there is bugger all available with anywhere near the spec of the VZ2 anywhere close to the price. Plus there is no availability of anything else anyway, unless I want a Corsa or Yaris 😉
no thanks

Finally some good news. Chatted with Cupra this morning who have confirmed my car has left production and is waiting transportation/ship. Hopefully here in about 6 weeks

Placed my order in June with leasing options for a 2 year lease. It was supposed to be a pipeline order they placed in April for delivery in October. Assuming other people have had a similar thing? This no longer works for me as I’m moving abroad in 2024, hence the 2 year lease. Has anyone had any luck cancelling with leasing options given this is now a 9month delay.

I threatened them with cancellation and they had no issue with it. There is a cancellation clause in the documents though which is 5% of order value if I remember correctly. I'm not entirely sure if they can try and charge it if the vehicle hasn't even commenced production. You've probably paid an admin fee to Leasing options so they're not out of pocket but the dealership may be for losing a sale. Ask the account manager, mine just said I was more than welcome to cancel (I might yet) and didn't mention it costing me any money.

Thanks. I’m worried about that cancellation cost. But it seems unreasonable given they can no longer supply the vehicle within a reasonable time-frame

Just got told I also have an unconfirmed build slot for week 50 which I think is a couple of weeks before Christmas.

Makes sense that 245 VZ1 spec cars are getting built at the same time.

Hope it actually happens this time. VW finance have agreed to let me keep the Tiguan I have on lease until the Formentor shows up instead of the 3 month extension they previously offered.

That’s good that you can keep the car until the Formentor arrives! I’ve spoken to someone else who has a 245 VZ1 on order as well and his is week 50 too. I’m hoping so too, at the moment things look to be getting worse. Especially with people now getting spots for potentially next year!
